In the E89 club and delighted.

Had a chance to give the car a quick clean today, and have a good look at the paintwork... absolutely delighted

Photo’s added to first post.

Had a slightly longer drive today, put it in Sport rather than comfort, seems to be a bit like the ‘sport’ button on the E85?

Had a decent amount of time out in the car today, it was cold but sunny so roof was of course down

It’s easily faster than any of my previous Z4’s with a lot more torque, and the sound is ok actually... not special like a 3.0Si, but sufficiently sporty sounding for a modern sports car :driving:

That’s great!

Myself, I just got a text from the mechanic. Mine will be ready in 30 minutes. New springs, tyres, front camber, rear spoiler, etc. Can’t wait!

Bet you can’t wait to drive it, I’m sure it will feel transformed

Not being biased one bit but VO is such a great colour. Have seen a couple with the black roof and often thought of changing mine with a wrap.

It’s lower and stiffer. We’ll see about the understeering when we hit the twisties in a couple of weeks.

Re the whole ‘black roof or not’.... I can take it or leave it,

If I was ordering new I wouldn’t have paid extra for a black roof, but buying second hand I wouldn’t expect to pay any more or less for one with/without a contrasting roof.

95% of the time I’m driving it you’d not be able to see the roof anyway

My dislike is purely personal & i get that some might think its a enhancement but for me the E89 is a graceful & good looking 2 door sports car that looks great with its roof up , once you black the roof it then looks like a hardtop on a convertible ( like on E85) which i know it is but it then looks like a afterthought on what for me is a well styled car  12 yrs on & it still looks fresh .

Exactly.

I think they look fabulous with the roof up, and it certainly needs to be body colour.

I guess it’s good that we all like different things really, perish the thought we were all the same.... might all be driving round in Banana’s :fuelfire:

I guess the defining answer for yourself is would you remove it if it was a wrap  or would you leave it on ?

Thing is Andy, I haven’t raised the question of the roof colour being being a plus or minus... others have, so I’m not looking for a defining answer, or any answer really.

It’s a toy that will be mainly used in good weather with the roof down. Honestly don’t think I’ll be parking it up and looking back over my shoulder wincing because the roof’s not orange

I have said before I prefer a single colour, but if my budget had stretched to an VO car then I would have quite happily taken one with a back roof, its all personal taste and I would be happy with either. :D

I quite like the black roof with VO. I would change the front grilles for gloss black ones as they would tie in nicely with the roof.
