I hate commenting on politics, but I do believe this is one issue that needs real discussion.
I listen to the political arguments, but neither side is giving any real, truthful, positive reasons for voting either way. Both are spouting incorrect, inflammatory and ever more ridiculous statements. None of which help the common man one jot.
I am not a small business owner, so I don't purport to understand the intricacies of what in or out mean to them.
I do not believe for one minute that immigration is, nor should it be, of paramount concern to the particular question of our continued membership of the EU.
What I do see however, is that the EU is so far removed from the Common Market that we joined in the 70's as to be unrecognisable. We do need to reconsider our position as a member of what is becoming a European federal state.
I am also very concerned about the future not only of the UK, but more so about the future of the EU itself. I never understood how a 'single currency' was going to work; and every indication is that in fact it can't work. Linking 28 countries currencies, and enforcing strict inflation and monetary controls was always doomed to failure. As such, this has lead to a few wealthy and booming countries, who now seem unwilling to support those countries who probably never should have been allowed to join in the first place due to their financial profligacy, and or niaivity.
The other big cornerstone of the EU is freedom of movement. As we have seen, as soon as we have the first major stress of free movement, the migration crisis (which in my opinion has been handled disgustingly badly), the Schengen agreement dissolves into tatters. It seems that when a country's back is to the wall, it reverts to looking after number one.
