imola or sepang

They pre-ordered as well. Dealers buy cars and either use the build slot to ship to a customer who changes the spec, or if no one bought it, it would go to the dealership to sell from there.

When I ordered my M, as there were literally dozens and dozens of Interlagos blue cars on order, I could have had one of those with a £1500 discount. I was tempted at the time with Sepang but the dealer talked me out of it as other dealers were trying to get rid of theirs through the network which appeared to be just about impossible. I ordered mine "fresh" so to speak as there was nothing in the system that I liked.

Funny how the taste for sepang has changed though.
 
Imola, I actually hate sepang, but my wife likes it ! We all have different tastes. Sepang reminds me of my papas old Vauxhall viva lol

Red has always been popular for sports cars ain't it?

The sepang type of colour has recently come back into fashion... I have not seen any cars for 20 years previous with that kinda colour on.. Although my brother had a Mk2 cortina GT in Saluki bronze that was similar..

I dunno... I like sepang,more for the rarity I think...
 
Imola is a great shade of red but i would prefer to own the Sepang if i had a like for like choice of spec/history & price .
If you got back what you paid then bought the forum Imola car that would be good business
Plus if you did sell to John you'd still see the car every day ?
 
I'm also on the hunt for an M vehicle with Sepang paint! Think the paint defines the curvature better / after a decent amount of polish it'll be gleaming!

I wuld love to machine polish a sepang car and see what the paint came up like......I bet it could look awesome with work...
 
I had a sepang Orion 1.6i Ghia as a student. It was as quick as the contemporary XR3i but looked like a metallic mushroom with spot lights and big bumpers!
The only reason I would keep the sepang Zed is for it's potential resale value, assuming rarity adds value. Have you considered IL Blue? It's the best colour by far in both ///MR and ///MC guises.

The Sepang on these is quite different to the paint used on the older cars mentioned isn't it?
It's got a lot more metallic flakes in and looks great in the sunlight as does Silver Grey and Ruby Black IMO.
I think it really suits the shape of the coupe and its rarity makes it even more desirable, a rare-ish car with a rarer colour. I'd certainly buy one.
 
Sepang is probably my favourite colour on a coupe, it just looks so right. On a roadster I'm not as convinced by it, no idea why but it never seems to have the same appeal.

given the choice, and without ever having seen either in the metal, I'd probably still take sepang if all else was equal.

The rarity adds to its appeal , seen the car up close a good few times & there is something about it that adds a little panache to the Z4 whether roady or coupe .
It isn't a "grab the eye" colour though & i imagine this pic with Taz's car in Imola & it would certainly take the stage :wink:
