I'm back (*all parts for repairs now here Thanks*)

Might be worth being open with them, put a claim in, and if they want to write it off make it part of the acceptance that you can buy the car back. They know about the accident anyway I assume as you hit 3rd party, so what have you to lose. If they won't you just leave as is at present and get fixed yourself.

Fair point srhutch- will wait and see on full estimate cost as with a high excess on this car it may still come down to me paying. Just want it sorted and get back out z'ding in the sun :driving: :D

Ouch sorry to read about your misfortune Paddy.
If it's any use to you I have a Sterling Grey bumper sitting in the shed gathering dust, it's not immaculate as it has a couple of scuffs on the bottom edges but is in one piece. I intended putting back on my Zed should I decide to sell but recent discussions with SWMBO have indicated the Zed will be pushed into the garage as a sunshine and special occasion car so my collection of hung onto parts could well be surplus to requirements.
It's yours if you want for the price of postage, only problem is I'm away on business until the end of July.

Cheers wildfire- found this out and am picking them up along with other bits when X5 is in for service tomorrow. Going to try taking front end apart today.

I had a small prang recently, still going through the insurance just waiting on the outcome. I was quoted £1500 to fix the damage, front bumper, left wing and new light cluster, ie less damage than what I can see on yours. Hope you get it sorted.

So had the front end off- thanks to all the how to guides here it was easy enough. Light repair kit is a great set up and replaces all broken tabs, just need to rebuild the rear now by cutting up an old light rear ( hopefully from a forum donor light).
Also replaced the smashed air intake parts- slowly coming back to life. Thanks again to Richard G for the help in donating a bumper!

Repaired light brackets!

For those with headlight washers be sure to unclip the hose form the bumper when removing(hose goes across the front to connect passenger side)

The part of the rear that needs re building

cover removed to remove air intake

This gives access to the upper fixing

Hopefully have my z back on the road soon! Thanks for all the support so far.

Very sad to see Paddy - hope you get your Z on the road again ASAP!

Last I checked (a year ago perhaps) there were loads of front bumpers on Ebay of all colours for <£100. Is it worth looking for a nice one? A body shop should spray it for £100.

Reckon you should rename the car Steve Austin!
Good to have you back and hope it works out
