Lucky you didn't have to make a claim, though with NFU once you've been with them for 5 years (so they can check you out) always send out your new insurance certificate with your renewal...

Question is about your complaint. Are you just complaining to make a noise or have you specifically asked them for something - a formal apology; 3 further months free cover; if they accidently forget to renew your insurance again they will be still be liable whether you pay or not or assurance (or free insurance) it will never happen again?

Just a suggestion, I wasnt aiming as such. If a company told me I didnt need to do anything I'd be very sceptical and probably wouldnt go with the company as I wouldnt want them charging me in the 2nd year.

askmid.com is a good site for checking if you're insured or not..

Just making a noise, at the end of the day no harm was done luckily, No point trying to get something for nothing out of them, that would only add to give them yet another reason to put insurance costs up everyone.

How did your wife not notice the money though really? At least she didnt keep quiet and spend it on shoes or handbags!

We pay our insurance for ten months of the year, she thought we were having our 2 months off.
