If you could only own 1 album ?

Good call for Supertramp Crime of the Century. Kinda forgot about that.

At the moment I think I might go for David Gilmour's "Live in Gdansk" as it features his last solo outing "On an Island" and a load of classic Floyd stuff.

It could change........but off now to dig out my Supertramp Best of CD!

With the children, I couldn't choose between them. They are very different people but they have grown up with the kind of values their mother and I would have looked for.

Music now... there's a very good selection here. A few things are missing that I would have expected, such as The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and Rory Gallagher but that's music to groove to, and perhaps a bit out the age demographic of the forum.

If there's to be only one album for the year it has to make me listen and think, so probably Pink Floyd, but from my own era, no, not Animals but Ummagumma. It has the advantage of being a double album.

Enjoy Careful With That Axe, Eugene!

It's so difficult, almost impossible, however because Radiohead have not released a greatest hits album, I have gone for.....

Hell freezes over - Eagles

Tom Yorks mum was a support teacher at my primary school. Never met tom but his mum was really scary to 5 year old me.

There would be a different answer to this each day.

Right now I'd say wish you were here by pink floyd. I'm an old hippy.

There is a Radiohead greatest hits album, released against the bands wishes

Oh now there's a thing, hijack this thread with favourite Radiohead song :D

......that would be so difficult, gosh, hmmmm, fake plastic trees or let down, maybe National Anthem or no surprises or perhaps Separator

Would have to be "My Iron Lung" for me.

Another vote for Fake Plastic Trees here or Bullet Proof I Wish I Was for those moments when only that will do.

Portishead - Dummy
Was only just talking about this yesterday. 1995. New summer of love. All my flatmates also returned to our shared house with a copy after uni holidays.

Yes, definitely was moody uni music. Takes me back to those Fresher days when life was so carefree :)

Ah.... memories... I do wish I could go back sometimes!

I'll pitch in with Roni Size ft. Reprazent - New Forms.
A classic from 1997 (oh my, that sounds so wrong are we really getting that old?!)

If you could only own 1 album, id probably kill myself!
I couldn't ever pick. There is no 1 single artist or album i could single out as i like so much random stuff from so many different music genres.
Id die with out variety

i've got to agree on that! i also have the same problem with U2, all their stuff seems so anthemic and tuneless (ducks to avoid flame!), but they have sold millions so i guess i'm wrong.

Could play it safe I suppose and go for a compilation album. Now Thats What I Call Music 100 or whatever it is. :D

Bit dramatic, so someone points a gun at your head and says choose just one album and your retort is, I can't, so just pull the trigger already :D
