iDrive Navigation Map Update

Sigh, I'm £189 lighter and the issue remains. Albeit it got very confusing. I got handed back the keys today, 'there you go mr , you now have 2012 maps' I said er yeah, it had 2012 maps when I brought it in! They look confused and said but you wanted the map update. I said No I had the map update, I wanted the nav software update to hopefully fix the map issue. They said yeah it's been done. Lots of confusion later i clarified that I had the map update but wanted the cars systems updating. I showed them the fact three manchesters still showed on a search, they checked on a 5 series and that had two manchesters listed!?! So as it turns out the idrive was updated weeks ago when I had the dct done. So ive had new software already.. Which the 2012 maps don't work with properly, looks like a mapping issue full stop. So now for a battle to get my £189 back as in essence they did nothing I didn't already have! Sigh sigh sigh.
Are there any other version numbers listed in the Nav system that you can bring up?
Hang on... If you insert DVD 1 again, does it offer to update, or tell you there is nothing to update? If it says nothing to update, then as you say, the dealer really has done nothing!!

there is a secret i drive menu which is accessed by going to the main screen,
hold up on the controller for 10 sec,
3 rotary clicks right,
3 rotary clicks Left
1 rotary click right
1 rotary click left
1 rotary click right
press select button.
i didnt see an iDrive firmware in there, but it has stuff like gps sat status etc in there

Checked the Service info menu and there is nothing of use in there,
on bimmerfest, http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=540474, there is some chat about the need for that you need to have a (relatively) recent ISTA/P firmware version in the car to do the update. the writer had ver. 2.37.1.0.1 and it worked ok.
I guess the question is what " ISTA/P firmware version" have we got and what do we need to get it to work (whateverthe ISTA/P firmware" is!

My car is going back for a full reprogram on Friday. I'm still talking with them to see if I can get all this done FOC as they know the map update was done via a third party. They're not fussed, but it may go against any request for a refund on the £189 I paid. In any event, I tried this on a brand new F30 while I was there, it too showed multiple entries so the dealer thinks theres some form of software bug or map error as they think it odd too and likely its reading multi language entries.
