Have you ever done an SSD upgrade in one of these?

If it’s the HDD you mean, B21 has done it.

I'm aware of the SSD mod, but, TBH, I've got a 64gb memory stick plugged into the USB port that gives me thousands of tracks, all with album art, that I can access far easier than the built-in drive. The advantage of the USB far outweighs the drive (HDD or SDD). I don't have a massive music collection and I love to stream as much as I can, but even my memory stick could keep me going for weeks and never repeat a track.
Saying that it would be an interesting project to do, although, from what I've read about it, it is quite complex and a bit of a headache.
Over to B21.....

The only thing the SSD gives unless you have a 6th DAN in an obsure form of Linux (QNX) is that the maps move a lot faster in terms of search and zoom... :tumbleweed:

The music partition size stays the same and its crap quality..

I have a few spare SSD if you need one!

Yeah I'll stick as I am then

Oh the HDD did come with some quite odd music, so that's all been binned, so I have none on there at the moment.
And that reminds me, I must update the Gracenote. It's currently at 2011, and the latest that's available (not an official release, but somebody converted it) is 2019, not that it's a lot of use as I don't play CD's, but hey-ho I'll do it anyway  :driving:

If you could let me know how to do that pls..my Eagles compilation CD is not listed on my database! :tumbleweed:

I was thinking more for longevity, as the mechanical disks fail.
Speed also a slight advantage.

Here you go, the 2019 database with instructions.
Oh, you need one of those old blank CD's, so you need to burn the iso to it first

Edit** Doesn't always work on some compilations.

Might help if I actually put the link in

Yeah, good point.
I'll look closer into it, but on checking the parts it's looking in the region of £120+ for using the Compact Flash method.

SSD fails but given the frequency of use probably in around 10,000 years

If you want to spend £150 ish as you’ll nee a hardware adapter as well to write the disk..
