Idle in the morning..

I recently purchased a 2004 BMW Z4 3.0i . It has been sitting around for quite sometime, and my warranty runns out in October of this year. What is the best way to go to a BMW dealer and ask for diagnostics, lube job, just refresh the car, so the fuael line is clean. I had it for 2 weeks, and I do believe I need to strech it out for resting for so long. I noticed during my mornings cold starts, when I crank the engine and it finally kicks in, it goes to 1500 rpm, and then for some reason the idle drops for a second, and the engine almost stalls but then it picks up.. This ONLY happens in the mornings, later on the day, its fine. The idle is also fine, its just that one instance in the morning.. Maybe its just unstreching from a long rest? Maybe after few refills and miles it will catch up?.. I know these cars have lots of sensors, and I was thinking of putting cleaner fluid into the gas, it wont set off any alarms?
I appriciate any feedback..

Try using a different fuel - My car, albeit different, does exactly what you describe when using anything but Shell V-Power. In addition, try using some BMW Fuel System Cleaner (Chevron re-branded) with the fill-up.

Our '03 3.0 does the same thing after it's been sitting for a few days. I've never noticed the problem after the first start or if the car is used daily. I thought it is a fuel system quirk and haven't worried about it.

I had what sounds like the same issue. You would start the car and rpm's wpuld come up and then drop for 1-2 seconds and the back to normal. I had it looked at several times, yyes it was doing it , could not find the cause. This went on for little over 1.5 years. Finally one day the check engine light comes on and the fix ended up being the DISA valve. I was told it has to do with the vacume advance. The car no longer does this any more. Here was my thread at the time. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4814
