I Love My Car.

Well done Carol

A few comments from Monkey and Lux at the meet but i think they may be converted to actually liking colour. Ray had a nice red one there too.

Your completely right Mr Racer I was not sure before actually seeing it in the flesh. Got to say your car stood out and looked fantastic. Rays red zed was beautiful but i do covert red zeds!!

Wouldn't listen to me or Lux any way we have boring silver cars. But to be fair mine was just the only zed i could afford. Lux just has no imagination!!!

carol i have always loved the colour and your interior is fantastic .well done agreat motor  wish my darling would wash mine but she cant be bothered to wash her 3 series coupe its only 3 months old i have to do it .

I don't know if this is a big no no!! Probably is because no one has mentioned it! And i am very new to car cleaning. But i use clay bar on tar spots?? My wife has a white 4X4 it all comes straight of with the clay? Still have to wash and wax after?

Think this is a valid method - my detailer often uses a bit of clay when washing the car, it will get some of it off, but perhaps not all. Remember....if you drop the clay, bin it! I think you should re-apply wax after claying as well. You can clay it like this as part of the wash stage (just targeting the tar spots, so not a full clay).

Exactly what I did on the wife's car. They where small spots it worked really well. Defiantly wax after.

They do come off with a bit of a rub, it just takes up more time and is annoying.
I'm thinking its probably best to just keep on doing what I have been to get them off as I don't want to lift the Supagard off the car with solvents.

the main reason to use a chemical spray is to dissolve the tar, which doesn't need a bar to touch and possible marr or scratch the paint...

think of it like clay is a mechanical stage... runs the risk with tar of causing some damage as you have to touch and scrap it along the paint to remove...

if your supa guard has been put on properly, then it should be able to withstand localised tar chemicals...

Actually Supagard make a tar remover. Technically that shouldn't fetch the Supagard off I would've thought?
Think I'll email them and ask.

Looks amazing Carol; great work!
I dont usually like bright coloured cars but I think your Zed is the on the list of those I really admire. Something about the tone of yellow and E89 lines. Looks really cool on the interior too.

not much of a 'super guard' if its does eh.... :poke:

I'll get my coat..... sorry....

If they have their own version, I would ask... no harm and may mean less scrubbing for you and the Zed...

That looks really good , Wish my neighbours were that far away

I agree with maniac if you do use a remover/solvent you need to rewash that area
