I like this forum.......

That's it really! :D

Refreshing to see a modern car orientated forum that is busy, not "up itself" and willing to embrace anybody. I honestly didn't expect this type of forum from "BMW owners". BTW that's a good thing

It's so not a BMW forum. :) It is a Z4 forum. Though I know many here are happy BMW fans. I doubt I will own another than my beloved Z4MR. 8) :driving: :D

Rob... Don't you mean a bit smarter.?

Bear with him on that.

Apologies for lowering the tone but I'm on BMW Numbers 7 and 8, and only 3 have been Z4s.

definitely one of the best forums I have frequented down the years, the z4 obviously attracts the more discerning bmw owner, in all honesty I have never been a massive fan of the brand and have never aspired to owning any other model than the z4

Love the forum and the people on here who are always helpful what ever the questions. Its nice also alot of the members have been on here for years which makes it a comfortable forum to be part of.

I know I have probably not been too agreeable at times so I'm glad I'm still allowed on

It's great forum :)

Tim.

Since I've been here I have noticed (especially over the last few months), a lot of people turn up, ask a question then disappear once they have tapped into all the knowledge.
So it is great to get such positive feedback. Thank you for taking the time to write it.
You've passed, you can stay  :D

As long as you stay away from the mainstream BMWs, you can't really be that bad.

This is my first Z4, but was only my 4th BMW (e34 520i, e34 3.6 M5, e34 3.8 M5, Z4MC) - but I do tend to keep them until they die (or I kill them).

I've now also now had a daily driver 330D and now a newer 320D - so maybe I'm getting worse in my old age.

stay away from the mainstream BMWs he says

i've had 7 3 series BMWs now (1 E36 328i, 2 E46 328i, 1 E46 330ci, 1 E92 335i, and 2 E90 330ds) and one Z4 (E85 3.0i) Thinking about a 1 series as a runabout/track car in the future too. Can't get more mainstream than that! i think i must be the exception to the norm - i take pride in indicating and being courteous, and letting other drivers out of turnings, especially other BMWs (someones gotta look out for us, everyone else hates us lol)

I feel like I was infected with a the BMW bug from quite an early age, my parents had a 1988 BMW 528i that I learnt to drive on and enjoyed using for the first year of my driving life.

Since then I’ve owned a host of different cars but always have a soft spot for some of the punchier BMW models, alongside the Z4 3.0si I also have a F11 535D touring which is very much a family car, but I like it because it’s got some punch and a hell of a lot of practicality.

My sense is that the further you move away from the latest and greatest the more grounded the owners tend to be (not meaning to offend any of you lucky enough to own the new BMW series).

P.S. I love using my retrofit BMW indicators, they work beautifully!

 I stayed mainly because no one asked me to leave....... and members don't write in text speak so I actually understand what the posts say. Oooah the technical stuffs good and of course I've met a lot of East Anglia Zed owners - can't wait to so good buy to the Covid sh1t or at least get into warm weather so we can meet up again :driving:

Good to see feedback like this. When I joined back in 2010 it was my second experience of a forum after being on Z3roadster.net for a year or two. That place was useful and I was impressed with the knowledge and help a car forum could provide. The Z4 Forum was like another notch up and I spent more time on here than I did pretty much anywhere else on the internet at the time.

Fast forward to 2021 and I'm back after a forum hiatus of around 6 years. What I've noticed is that not much has changed. There are new people of course and most of the old guard are still around - even long after selling their Zeds and moving onto other marques.

In that six years I've spent time on the MCoupe forum (quiet and a little cliquey), the E30 forum (closest to this one) and briefly the Scirocco forum (don't even go there (literally)).

None are quite what this place is, and remarkably after all these years and as Z4's become pocket money cars, still a forum with a relatively low tw*t quota

Exactly!

With my BMW history, I'm not that bad.

You however, with your run-of-the-mill, mainstream, cooking BMWs... :poke:

Beetle owning clog wearing Dutchman.....keeps hanging around like haemorrhoids..... :poke:

Seconded OP- I think this is a cracking forum

I've had excellent advice from people who know their stuff; no attitudes, no p155ing contests...

I was a regular on the E30zone and you had similar- but this forum is a bit more upmarket

Stay classy Z4 Forum!

I couldn’t agree more, this is probably the best forum I’ve belonged to.

Most seem to suffer from one or more of the following: immature members, members thinking that every post is a straight line for their lame attempts at humor, rude people, power hungry moderators...and a host of other abhorrent traits.

I have gotten great advice here and even offers for assistance.

In the “lounge” I have certainly had disagreements with some members but they seldom were disagreeable.

The Z4 (E85, 3.0, 6 speed) is only my second BMW, the first was a Z3, 1.9L. I’m pretty much a Toyota/Ducati guy and I doubt that I’ll ever own a turbocharged BMW, I understand as the turbos became common the ability to do your own work became more difficult.

Anyway, I love it here!

No one was suggesting you drove an Audi.

Oh hang on you didn't mention being permanently attached to the car in front.
