I like this forum.......

Most seem to suffer from one or more of the following: immature members, members thinking that every post is a straight line for their lame attempts at humor, rude people, power hungry moderators...

Yeah, I'm still working on the moderator one

Since I've been here I have noticed (especially over the last few months), a lot of people turn up, ask a question then disappear once they have tapped into all the knowledge.
You've passed, you can stay

Nah, your alright thanks. I've found the information I came here to find, see ya! Now what's the URL of the "how loud and annoying can I make my Fiesta.com" :D :D

Guilty as charged I'm afraid
Also now I'm here your tw*t quota has just gone up by at least 1. :)

There are so many forums, especially "performance car" forums where the average topic is "I'm 23, my bird is just about to drop triplets and our council flat is a bit small. Should I save my benefits up and get a GTR Skyline or look for a mortgage"? The answer is always "ditch the bird and get the GTR". :o
OK I may be exaggerating a bit, but not much.

Not at all, some of the recent posts on this thread got a chuckle from me. But I have belonged to some forums where “helping a brother out” was the last thing on many members minds. Pitiful attempts at humor were the rule not the exception. I have not found that to be the case here.

Some replies to posts are funny and appreciated but I think the focus here is to pass on knowledge and advice...”humor” is secondary.

This is a great forum for the discerning Z4 owner, especially those who have wood

Love the forum and the people on here who are always helpful what ever the questions. Its nice also alot of the members have been on here for years which makes it a comfortable forum to be part of.

I know I have probably not been too agreeable at times so I'm glad I'm still allowed on

It's great forum :)

Tim.

:oldman: did you say something?

Yeah, Carol, haha.
She was later replaced by another know it all, opinionated Yellow e89 owner......lol
Must be something that comes with the car?

Thankfully he seems to have gone quiet too?

That's it really! :D

Refreshing to see a modern car orientated forum that is busy, not "up itself" and willing to embrace anybody. I honestly didn't expect this type of forum from "BMW owners". BTW that's a good thing

This place has been great over the years, even if it did inspire me to modify more than a few things on my first zed, back in 2007,from reading stuff on here, and later meeting owners like cj10/Phil,who had alot of special mods on his.

It's had its ups and downs,as with everything in life, but still a great place, for many reasons....advice,chat,and meets/making friends.

Long may it continue :driving:

Always ask yourself .. “What will happen if I say nothing?”

If you have nothing to say, it’s best to say nothing

You are quite right Craig ... absolutely

I don’t have a pop at people ...

hence my point .. if you don’t have something nice to say about someone .. don’t say it

I find it truly sad that you bad mouth another member on a thread called “I like this forum”

Time for reflection perhaps Craig ?

I feel like I was infected with a the BMW bug from quite an early age, my parents had a 1988 BMW 528i that I learnt to drive on and enjoyed using for the first year of my driving life.

Since then I’ve owned a host of different cars but always have a soft spot for some of the punchier BMW models, alongside the Z4 3.0si I also have a F11 535D touring which is very much a family car, but I like it because it’s got some punch and a hell of a lot of practicality.

My sense is that the further you move away from the latest and greatest the more grounded the owners tend to be (not meaning to offend any of you lucky enough to own the new BMW series).

P.S. I love using my retrofit BMW indicators, they work beautifully!

My partner and I are the complete opposite, we are very late to the BMW party, having owned 13 Volvo's (but found too much one-upmanship was creeping in with that brand), we have to agree with you all here that this is a great forum with only good positive things to say about each others motors, and plenty of free friendly advice.
And now having bought an E86 Z4 last October, we seem to have been bitten by the bug as we have just sold our V60 and moved into what feels a very grown up car, a 2017 335d, what a perfect BMW combination (for us), with no offense taken. Unless anyone wants to correct me.
