I had a Hyundai coupe before the Z and the aerial on that was a proper eye gouger so the whippy seems small in comparison.... plus I like actually being able to pick up radio stations

As for radio I'm sure you know the FM aerial is inside the rear bumper.

OK maybe time to get rid then dont think I even have any AM radio stations tuned in..... Do they even still broadcast in AM?

I won't bore with the technical answer but in essence on other than FM and in areas of low signal the tuner is capable of switching from FM to the external aerial.
Seem to recall someone used it to listen to one specific commentary station.
