I went to look at a car today and it was immaculate. It is the first one I looked at but so good that I bought it!

I can't wait to pick it up, just got to wait for funds to clear :headbang:

Thanks.

I should have added a big thankyou to people on here for their replies to my earlier posts and generally for the helpful info on this site.

The car is like new (I mean really like new!) I think the owner had polished it with autoglym more times than he has driven it! There is not a mark, stonechip or scratch on it. The even bigger bonus was that it was 20 minutes away from my house.

The only sticking point was the auto box. I had never driven an auto before today. I took it out for a quick run but couldn't make my mind up. The owner was kind enough to let me take it out for another 20 minutes and I realised that I really enjoyed the driving experience. It has the option to use the stick as a manual change (which I pressume they all do?) which is a nice option to have.

The car also has a remote roof down option. When you unlock the car with the button on the key, you just hold the button down and the roof goes down. This surprised me as I had read on here about the remote module you can buy. Could you buy this an an option from new? The owner thought they all had it?

Thanks

Si

The remote roof option that you mentioned is different to what your car has. The problem with the standard one is that you have to hold the button, and you will be surprised hw many times it's stops half way down. The other problem is that yo cant close with the remote because of Health and safety muppets.

The Reinhold module sorts both of these problems by pressing the open or close button just three times.

Fantastic - an as new just run in car

Did you get to drive the auto in 'sport' with the button pressed? It transforms the car with many changes such as increased throttle sensitivity, different shift positions, reduced power steering assisance.

I'd quote the pics emote, but there are some there.....that said, gotta post your own! Great car though, i'd inquire a bit further as to which maintenance inspections (insp 1 & 2?) it's had, but should be good.

Superb looks a minter i thought mine was low mileage with 11.5 but 4.5k :o great find best colour combo enjoy i know you will.

Yes but only briefly. It definately made a difference.

I'm really excited now, the cash has come through quicker than I expected so I might even get it this weekend!!

I've got the first of many daft questions for you all,

1) Where do I get one of those stubby aerials from?

2) Can I change the orange plastic/glass on the side repeaters (behind the BMW disc's) to clear?

3) Has anyone ever changed the chrome 3.0l badges on the front wings to red ones? (on a silver car)

4) Will 19" rims (CSL, M3 etc) fit on the car. I've seen the talk of CSL replica's, does this mean 18" replica's?

FYI it's a 2005 3.0l auto (currently with Ellipsoid's) UK car.

Congrats on the purchase 8)

1. Got mine from ebay was about a tenner

2. Quite a common mod, I'm sure someone will provide a link

3. Not sure, i think someone has a pic in their sig

4. The OEM CSL wheels won't fit, so you will need to go with replicas

Enjoy!
