Started at 8am, did the last set at midnight.

It hurts quite a bit today, mostly across the top of my shoulders, but it was a new years eve resolution and I've done it!

Not really much point to this post, just had to tell someone!

Well done I guess. I done the 100 push-up challenge thing a couple of years ago, but never heard anyone do 1,000 in a day!

You're gonna need lots of protein to rebuild those worn muscles!!

I was just thinking about a nice juicy steak for lunch!

If you want to feel really inadequate, look at the push-up records....

Cant go too wrong with a steak :)

Some of those records look unbelievable... I'm now watching world records on youtube, whilst waiting for the world cup build up to start.

I love work... 8)

Well 1000 sounded impressive until you posted the records link.

# 24 hours: 46,001; Charles Servizio (USA), 24/25 April 1993 at Hesperia (new record claim, not yet verified: Jeffrey Warrick (USA), 46300)

Wow.

1,000 feels impressive! especially across the tops of my shoulders.

Some of those records are just insane.

I remember seeing an interview on TV with Herschel Walker (I think) and he explained that all he did to stay in his incredible shape was 1500 pushups per day. I assume he did other things as well but that's what he claimed.

I try to do 100 a day and 50 sit ups. Needless to say I don't look like Mr Walker

I know what you mean, aaargh! But, 30 some years ago I twisted my back dragging cables around and my doc TOLD me I needed to do 40 situps a day for the rest of my life to keep my back in shape. He was right, every time I slack off I end up with a sore back from some stupid move I've made.

Good grief :o

I used to do weight training quite heavily in my teen years and know all about the day after.
Anyone came near me and tapped, prodded etc I would flip the pain was that soar but the results after a few years were excellent.
Its true what they say.......no pain, no gain.

Good for you

Its true about the"no pain, no gain" thing ................ I used to live next door to a gym and it was proper paindful listening to that stuff going on till deep into the night.

I won a bet that I could do between one and two hundred press ups in a minute. Did 2 and collected my winnings.

1000 in a day is good. I do a few, but torture myslef by running 5 miles most days.

how many did you do in each set?

Started off doing sets of 100 (50, quick breather, then 50)

As I got past 500 I changed to 100 in 30, breather, 30, breather, 40)

I did a couple of 50 sets in-between games of Modern Warfare, then 2 more sets of 100 (30,30,40)
