Hunter wheel alignment

Yeah I know they asked me if it has M sport suspension which it does said it would make a small difference anyway whatever they did the car drives beautifully now

Si-forks is tapatalking

Why are the "Before measurements" recorded today, not closer to the "Current measurements" recorded after last week's adjustments?

Did they load the car differently today, and not do this last week?

When I took it down the first time no one told me to make sure it has a full tank of fuel, this time the tank was full which I presume made everything different , I've also found out it was a trainee who did it the first time :( whatever they have done this time cars does seem to drive very nicely

si-forks is now tapa chatting in HD

Interesting that you also had your non M aligned as an M

I had mine done recently - below is the output which is covered in red compared to yours Si, but drives fine #confused

They shouldn't be aligning it as an //M though, I'd bet that's someone being to quick on the machine in the office, not noticing the difference between the two (where one says M and one doesn't).

If I had to guess I'd say yours was covered in red because it's not an M, so the acceptable values aren't going to be right.

TBH (sorry to be a bastard) but I'd be asking them for a better job than the above. The left and right sides should be able to be far closer than that. With the hunter system they can tweak them "live" so it's very easy to get them good. When the guy did mine I stood out there with him and chatted and he tried to get them as close as dead on with regards to each side. The only thing He couldn't do was the camber on one front due to a control arm issue which is now resolved.

The camber on the rear of yours is acceptable (iirc) so they shouldn't be red, but I wouldn't be happy with almost 20 points difference between the two! Once mine were adjusted they were within 4 of eachother!

One last thing, and sorry for the essay, but there's often a big difference between drives fine and drives amazingly well.

I'd had my car for a year before having the alignment done, I thought it drove fine, well it did, after the alignment the car felt almost double as capable and it was like driving a different car. Insane the difference it made really.

At the Hunter stations the 'M' is designating the M sport suspension not the ///M or so 2 difference centres have told me.

Had mine set up at the same garage as Ranski, using same 'M' setting. Every single one of my settings is in the green sector and to the point above drives 'Amazing'

Am surpised by the sea of red on Ranski's??

Same here!

When they did mine, they did ask if it had M sport suspension as they had a variation of settings, from there I knew I was in good hands

I'll see if I can find my print out for Ranksi tonight, he could always take the car back along with my print out to show how it's been done "properly" for lack of a better word.

Looking again at Rich's print out it's shows as 'current'. That's what mine was headed up as and to some extent looked like before adjustment.

He may just have posted the wrong sheet??

Hi guys

Yes very odd as I've done over 4000 miles since the alignment, including a recent euro trip and the car seems as planted to the road

Looking at Si's printout he has 'before measurements' and 'current' so I guess this is the current alignment of my car

I'm fitting some new alloys shortly so will get another alignment done

Phil, where did you get yours done?

How would they go about doing it if lowered with spacers? I imagine the targets are the same, regardless of set up, as they are optimal, right?

It would require different and custom settings, just as a standard and M sport suspension have different settings as one is 15mm lower than the other.

Just dug out the paper work again and doh... Both sheets are labeled 'current measurements' however the time gives clarity on the before and after

Really? Surely the optimum camber, toe etc is still the same, but how close you can get to those settings is decided by the mods.

Sorry to drag up an old thread,

I had my alignment done at the weekend as I've had new control arms and bushes etc and also lowering spring (H&R) fitted recently. My car feels great now especially after the alignment :D

They have told me to pop it back in in the next 7 Days for a re-check and make any final adjustment if there needed.
One thing I'm unsure about it the camber, they said because its been lowered they have tried to get it as close as they can and make sure each side is even.

Anyone had theres done with lowering springs fitted and have there readings to hand?

Sorry Jan, mine are buried somewhere. I'll look them out if you remind me. Where did you get it done ?

F1 auto centre maidstone, they had it up on the ramp for about two hours and i paid £130.

I took it to ATS and it was too low for there alignment machines  don't think they have hunter machines. Lots of places around here have them but there all very busy.
