Bath, but work in Corsham.
Six years ago I really struggled in the snow, since then I've been running winter tyres on my daily drivers and barely seen a flake (plenty of ice and mud though). :roll:

It’s not normally this bad, but there is cold streak at the moment.
Waiting for end March when I replace the shitty winter rims and crappy studded tyres with brand new OZ Ultraleggera and Goodyear F1/3. Should be able to get the power down, then.

Only -20 degrees today.
I live on an estate where there is a gentle hill to get out onto the main roads which are usually fairly clear. One of my neighbours was managing fine in his BMW 3 series but I just couldn't get the traction. When I asked him how he managed it he said he just turned off all the electronic aids and the car skidded around a little but always managed to find grip. Once on the main roads on went the electronic aids again. Tried it and it works. Not perfectly but definitely better.
Been using my Z4C in the snow with summer tyres, not too many problems as long as you are 'light with the right' when accelerating and brake gently and early. Feeling like a drift king in an empty car park at work. :evil:
Do worry about the other idiots on the road though who enjoy tailgating in their 4x4's. :x

So I found out today that the Z doesn't like snow, especially with Mitchelin Super Sports on. Got stuck, managed to get to my street eventually and got stuck again, but had some old carpet to throw under the wheels and put it on my neighbours drive. When I left for work the roads were fine, very very different now. It's the first time we've had snow in 5 years of having the Zed

Anything less than 7 degrees they perform better, once you've used them you'll never go back. I've got a set of 17s for the winter, smallest you can go over the front callipers.

They went on the 335x in November an will come off at the end of March (I hope)
A set of wheels and tyres is whole chunk cheaper than one insurance claim
