How to use a Z4 in the snow

I found the Z to be quite a steed in the snow :evil:

Mine’s on summer tyres all year round, so only goes out when there’s no/little standing snow.
It’s not the Z4 I worry about, it’s the other nutters on the roads.
Even when I’d had the car less than a year (so 2009?), I drove in the snow.

but as mmm etc said, it's the other nutters that should not be out in weather like this. Learning to drive in the early 80's meant rear wheel drive Escorts, Marinas, Avengers, Hunters - and the college car park was an excellent way to practice handbrake turns and drifting!
The Z4 is actually quite good in snow/winter weather. It must be something to do with sitting just infront of the rear axle.
Other BMW models seem to struggle. Same with Mercs (think E class size/shape).
Just to add, i've always had summer tyres on mine and haven't been stuck once. We don't get much snow down here, but about 5 years ago we did and my other halfs 1.0 ecoboost focus couldn't get up the road in our old home. It ended up going sideways into the kerb. My Z4 managed it perfectly fine.

No snow in the South West sadly 
Just booked Thursday and Friday off. Hopfuly to go walking on the Moors. Only had one experience of driving my Z in snow that was at Brands parked my car on a thin layer of snow thinking will be ok being an Auto just release the brake and let her roll forward but nothing gave a slight press on the gas and the dash lit up like an xmas tree and the wheels just span ended up bouncing up and down in my seat like they do in vintage car trials :lol: till the car found some traction and moved forward anyone looking out of the nearby office windows must have been wetting themselves.

Live in Finland and am driving my first winter with my e86. Just about doable - traction-control light is on most of the time, but too scared to turn off driving aids 
Studded tyres are kinda a necessity.
