You first have to get the drive shaft out of the hub and un bolted from the diff

Good luck you may need it

Or super glue for rubber

Cheers Paul-

I was thinking the lack of info meant it was a cr4p job

I'll have a look see how bad the boot is

Can you buy just the boot?

Getting the shaft out of the hub is the hard bit, I had to give in and get a garage to get mine out, I made it a bit harder by removing the trailing arm/hub from the car.

You may have to remove the rear section of the exhaust to get the drive shaft out.

I have found the boot on Autodoc

I may take it to Andy in Grimsby next time I am there

You need a bi hex socket to get the nut off if in good condition or a good hammer and chisel or an air chisel, if very rusty.

Then a hub puller, I have one in Manchester you can borrow it can be in Cleethorpes in a couple of weeks time.

thanks Paul- you still in Clee from time to time?

I've got a hub puller- I'll get a closer look at the boot tomorrow

Give Simon a call before you get in bits as the auto doc one may or may not work he has plenty of experience of these, hence the puller set up.

Yes in Cleethorpes right now and here till Sunday lunch time then off back to Manchester

Paul I’ve had a closer look the boot seems to be intact

Any ideas on where the gunk is coming from

The join between the two metal faces.

You still need to remove the drive shaft to do a good job.

Clean both faces and fit new bolts and plates (BMW) and see what happens
