How rare is your Z?

Inspired by a different topic on the forum, this website states some interesting stats on the no. of vehicles taxed each year in the UK & N.I:

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=bmw+z4&commit=Search

..I guess you need to see how your car is described on the V5 to make sure you are looking at the right thing but interestingly the most common E85/86 Z4 seems to be the Z4 2.2i SE (I think the 2.2i is not really valid) and the rarest the E85 3.0Si (adding the manuals and auto's together).

It's a shame it doesn't seem to differentiate the E85 Z4M from the E86 Z4M.

I wonder what the Z4 Si Sport is?

Still pretty common compared to my father in laws Hillman Husky Series 1
Only one registered in the UK!

Hi, the si sport was an option besides the si se

I'm not getting the data, if I take a Z4 3.0L I, in 2003 there were 1.3k registered, in 2004 the number was exactly the same. I would have expected the number in 2003 to be the number of cars that were registered in 2003, but in 2004 I would have expected more to be sold and hence the total number registered to be greater than 1.3k

Its the amount of cars licensed (taxed) with DVLA,, so if in 2003 if 4 cars were taxed and in 2004 4 new ones were taxed it would be 8,, then again if two were sorn it would be 6,,, I think

Mine’s unique...as I guess everyone’s Z4 is different in some way to every other.

Mine’s the only one owned by me, or with my exact mileage, or with my exact service history, etc.

Are we talking E89 or E85/E86 here?

I know what you mean. It's like there were no new registrations at all in the following year/s ???

There could have been some not registered, written off or the like which would decrease the total if I am reading it right?

201 registered for mine.....2004 2.5 SE Auto. Love mine to bits..Loved my Z3 but this beats it hands down....So many plans for it even though it's not the 3.0 litre I was after...strip and paint at the end of this season. Yeah it's unique to me.

Pretty rare really going by the database "tonyz4c" put together!

Based on that the UK got only 4 Montego Blue Sport Coupes with Pearl Grey Leather and Cirrus Aluminium trim, and mine is 1 of them. :)

...and there was me thinking all Si's were the same spec! When I put my VIN into any of the decoder sites it just says Model: Z4 3.0SI (EUR). Given that most options can be specified for either, how do you know which one you have?

Mine says the same on VIN checker, but the V5 says "Z4 Si Sport" so see what yours says.

My 3.0si was the se model but for some strange reason it had all the sport accessories specced from new?
So it was really an se sport (if such a beast existed) :?

Where have all the coupes gone? Also the first manual coupe wasn’t registered till the 4th quarter of 2007. Doesn’t look or sound right to me.

That definitely isn't right - both of mine were registered in December 2006!

But according to the Z4 list on here it’s one of 12 titanium/Syrah Si Roadsters registered in UK .. so unlikely to bump into another one .. that’s assuming all 12 still exist
