Very nice. Looks steep at a glance, but matching numbers of engine and box will make it a £150k car once restored

There's money in it to the right person

You're missing the point. Complete untouched car with engine box all the interior, seats, dash, wire wheels, hood frame, etc That's rare.

Easy restore and worth a fortune. I could restore that in a Winter pay £50k add £25k of costs, parts and bits and clear £75k

For sure £60k would put you in a decent F type, but a different game

You make it sound so easy... haha

I think it would be an absolute nightmare to get all the parts and costs would spiral out of control too

http://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1961-jaguar-xk150-fixed-head-coupe-c-5694.htm This coupe is a bit cheaper

Now that really is a basket case. Totally rusted out from panels boot floors, chassis, etc. Much less valuable coupe and cheaper being LHD

If I wasn't too busy with work and had some time available I'd take on the first one posted and regardless of difficulty of parts could get that on the road for <£90k My buddy 0.5k restores classics to showroom, is retired and spent his life doing this stuff, so £10k-£20k would sort him out for most of the work
Have no doubt next spring it would sell via a specialist dealer for €140k, given they go for up to €200k

I own a Jag (albeit modern) and attend the classic Jag shows, so know how the collectors kill for this model

I bet Wayne Carini has already eyeballed this and is at this very minute wondering if he can put Roger on it before wobbly-hand sets in...
:D

When I read that, I just hear Jeremy Clarkson saying it

That the way I wrote it :)

Then again those Jaaag folks never had piano black and chrome interiors, 18 way sports seats and a twin turbo pushing it along nicely faster than a Zed :driving:

Back on track this E type would make me sweat a bit at £175k given it's a full restore to be done even thought he price includes restoring..

Plus it is an original UK car - that sort of stuff matters at the price levels these go for!

Prices like that are why my Z4C has taken the place of the E-Type FHC I always promised myself when I was at primary school, but will never afford! And the Z4 is quicker anyway. (Probably a bit more reliable too)!

I probably just need to keep it another 20 or 30 years now!

If I had £50k to spend on an XK150 this one surely looks a better bet:

To my untrained eye that does look very nice

That's a guide price for auction of 50-60k
Could easily go for twice that, but I'd love to have it for 50k..
