How much oil does your Z4M use?

Slightly o/t, but does the dashboard oil level check work on the M..? I've not had the M supplement yet from the selling dealer :x , so I'm unsure if it varies from normal Z to the M? I've tried the method from the standard Z handbook, but it doesn't seem to work...?

Never used a drop of extra oil in 13,500 miles. I've had the same 1litre bottle in the boot for a year. Freaked me out a bit at first as i came from a 993 turbo that used a litre every 2000 miles as if you parked it on any kind of slope the oil would not drain correctly to the sump and you'd get a puff of blue smoke on start up.

Hmm, have done 39k in mine and not topped the oil once! It just does not use any and I check it every week before I set off... Before you accuse me of being Ms Daisy's driver, I do drive it as its creators intended it to be driven...

Interesting to note the 3.2 M engine does not appear to have a appetite for oil
Unless others have a different story to tell i should be safe in the wilds of Scotland next week with my top up litre

Never, ever topped mine up. I think despite Bing's best efforts even he has not managed to destroy it either.

Not the easiest of dipsticks to read though in my view.

My mk2 fiesta was still the easiest. R56 JCW possibly the worst, but this doesn't seem much better - unless I am terminally useless, but seems read lower after official instructions, but fine after another 5mins :headbang:

The lower reading is probably correct then if it was taken at the correct time with a hot engine. There will be more oil in the sump after 5 minutes compared to 1 minute.

Still not used a drop. It's all about warming the engine properly, as my test drive instructor instructed me  :D
