How Much... M Coupe

How much should one pay for a 2007 M Coupe.

I see them advertised from £15k to £48k

I know it depends a lot on the history, mileage, etc... but what's a fair price for a 2007 with full BMWSH and 40,000 miles?

Private / £15k - £18500k dpendent on spec + mods
Dealer with warranty / £17500/£22k dependent on dealer , spec + mods
These are purely my own thoughts & maybe different to others

Ha... yep, i just sold my Coupe and i am considering an M Coupe but i haven't been actively looking for some time, but was suprised to see such a huge difference in prices. I'm hoping to look at this one this week - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/z4m-coupe/bmw-z4m-coupe--low-mileage--stainless-exhaust--just-had-inspection-2-service--stunning-example/4335735

So, you think this is reasonably priced :-)

Then i have to pay €5,500 VRT tax to import it into Ireland :-(

Out on the tax!

I paid £15.5k for mine almost a year ago with 41k miles. Its now on 51k and i intend on keeping it another year before selling it on for hopefully around the same money as i paid. So having owned and enjoyed the car for circa 20k miles it shouldn't cost me much more than a few serviceable items/services.

I'd agree with Mr W on the price. I've had mine a year and a half, and what I did find was if you are after a specific spec or colour, be quick. Also found very little movement on price from dealers. My warranty has been pretty invaluable so far ... The example you've put up looks decent!

Just had its Insp 2 at BMW and required no shims? Umm ok

It is quite common for them not to need any. When I collected mine I asked for the report and he went over to the tech who got t the piece of paper from the top of his tool box. It was a bit oily but had the measurements, all were within tolerance, some just but these were tight so not a concern.

It does look a choice example & there's very little to fault reading through the advert
Its recently had fresh discs+pads, Ins 2 & rear Michelins so that's getting on for £1800 the new owner has no concern over .
The custom catback exhaust would have been very expensive , £1500 touch possibly :o & only a listen in & out of the car will tell if you can live with it for all occasion's ( id be asking about the original exhaust )
All that said its a private sale so no warranty or comeback & at that end of the price range having no nav should factor somewhere ?
Rattle 20k onto the 41k & the car would sit where all other 60k Mcs are which is between £14500k/£17k
Id take a look & maybe try for somewhere between £18k & £18750 :? Not the cheapest i know but if it requires zero spend & ticks your boxes then happiness :driving:

That's a lovely car...

£20k is a bit strong though I think...

Like Mr Wilks says, it will be around £15k with another 20,000 miles on the clock... That's assuming the prices stay as steady as they are at the moment over the next couple of years..

Maybe, but its something I would be quizzing the owner on. Has he a inspection report, did he speak to the tech etc?

People on this very form have had problems with incorrect or inspections not being done properly. I also believe BMW at one point were saying they were not doing shim inspections in their set price, but I maybe wrong. I would be wary if he was "just" told that nothing needed doing from BMW without any further explanation.

The car looks tidy with a good advert, so i'm sure he is an enthusiast and knows how the cars need to be maintained and can hopefully answer your questions about service history, which oil he runs it on etc.
