so it's time to be realistic for the time being & put my car passion on hold & see what happens in a few years time. :)

Yeah, right. I give you 6 months max.

How long did you hold onto that 520 before you were bored out of your mind? :D

Jan 2011 - Aug 2012 - 2003 3L
Aug 2012 - Sept 2013 - 2006 Z4MR
Aug 2013.... E89 35i DCT

Think that counts as working my way up throught the range - best for alround, money v fun v useability was the first 3L - The M was an amazing car and you felt so special in - The E89 is an amazing car, but more of a cruiser than out and out sports car - still Love ti though! Great for winter roof down!

1 year in a 2.5 prefacelift roadster in 2007/8, then my current car since September 2011.

lasted just 6 months.... not bad for me actually.... lol
Similar to me I only managed 5 months with my Z4M but I seem to get bored quickly as ive only had my M3 just 10 months & that's going next week too.

Managed over 6 years in my TVR before that though...M cars just haven't lit my fire which is a massive shame.

What's been the issue with the M3? Anything specific?

Hang on Hang on.. I hope you guys aren't counting those Z3 thingies in this poll 'cos that does NOT count

Can I count my Fiat Coupe 20VT ? Had that 9+ years. Was designed by Mr Bangle. :D

Had 'Tarquin' just over 6 years. Been my daily driver the whole time until september when I got the x5, now he will be a garage king. Never selling!

Not really the M3's fault it's just that my TVR hit the spot for me personally in everyway (apart from reliability) the M3's issues for me were poor brakes under hard use, kerb weight is too heavy, cabin is basically standard 3 series & it has a lack of everyday usable torque & for me I only really enjoyed it at 100mph plus which isn't great for keeping your licence!

The TVR on the other hand sounded amazing looked great & turned heads & got up & went like a rocket in any gear because it had the same power as the M3 but had nearly 100ft/ibs more torque & weighed around 400/500 kgs lighter so it's unfair to compare the two but I still did!

To be honest to really enjoy the M3 on the road you have to be wringing its neck & it's not always feasible & to be honest I fail to see in everyday driving what more it offers over a 330/335 but that's just what I've experienced with it from using it daily for the last 10k miles. :)

Cheers, sort of confirms what I suspected about them. You'll be buying a Sagaris next then! I love TVR's but the mrs wouldn't have it. :headbang:

I would love a Sag or another TVR...but because of the pain I went through with mine emotionally & financially my mrs has stopped my plans too! :headbang:

November 2008 to present - 90,000 miles in my ownership, and coming up on 100k in total.

21 months for me. Looking at getting another probably a 3.0 si in the next 3-4 months. Love the look at power.
