how is the price of gas affecting you driving your z?

True, but I don't drive like a little 'ol lady! 8) I'm used to burning up the roads on duty so I'm a little spoiled when I get in my POV's. The Z is there strictly for my personal thrill, and I'll be dammed if I'm going to go easy on it  .
I can tell a difference though when I'm cruising at normal interstate speeds, and when I'm not as far as gas mileage is concerned. BMW's weren't designed to be little 'ol ladies cars. Drive them that way long and they'll start acting like it. They beg for beatings lol! :worshipbmw:

Hasn't stopped me yet (at £1.08 for Super in the Z). However, it is annoying me at the moment as my diesel daily driver has lunched its engine. So I'm putting more miles on the Z doing my 60 mile daily commute, and drinking petrol for nothing more than sitting in the carpark that is the M25 all the way home...

i still drive like usual but today on a long trip(130miles) i decided to drive like a g-ma 60mph the entire way 70% flat land. I got close to 29mpg but thats as high as i'm gonna get. when i beat on it, in city stop & go driving, I get like 24~25mpg

not toooo shabby

Gas prices?

Around here it's varies from $3.05 to $3.18.

My Z is now my daily driver. It gets a lot better mileage than my Truck. I still drive the truck twice a week though.

I climb up in it and remember what it is like to be able to SEE above everyone else... But to be able to accelerate around everyone else has it's perks too..... :driving:

My wife said that when my son gets out of collage next year, and I don't have that cost (about $15K/year) that I pay out of pocket, I can go get a new Z if I want...... As long as she gets to keep the one we have now......

Buying my Z4 because of gas prices. If it wasn't for gas prices, I don't know about the rest of you but my dailey driver would be a nice used low milage viper if it wasn't for gas prices......

I usually fill up my tank about once a week (~240 miles), so the price pinch isn't too bad. Another 20cents increase would only be about $10-$15/month, so no biggie. Since it's my daily driver, I really don't have much choice but to suck it up at the pump. Just the other day I spent $47 on 13.3 gallons -- albiet I stretched that tank a bit before finally filling up. At this rate of increase, I'll be reaching $50+ at the pump in no time. *sigh*

Gosh - the Z4 is getting way better gas mileage than my last 3 cars so far so I feel better than ever about being able to keep on truckin'

I am averaging 24.5mpg over the long term right now (average over my last 3 tanks of gas) as a combination of city and highway driving. My old Honda S2k was around 20 at best for the same conditions and my old 2004 Audi S4 Avant got about 15 at most (often times far worse). Thanks heavens I ditched that gas guzzling 4.2l V8. :D

Yah, just started paying for college, its more like 30K/yr so as i said, maybe that's why i'm feeling the pinch.

I only do about 7K per year, so i'm not driving any less. We're taking the 22 mpg SUV to visit family for Thanksgiving. I'm not going to worry about it until the prices hit $5 per gallon here.

Just managed to fill up the X5 yesterday for the first time breaking the £100 barrier for a full tank (that is $210). That lasts a week ...

£1.06/L i paid yesterday in Tesco's, FFS, it doesn't stop me using the Z at all but it does make you think. I know we get higher octane than the US but the price difference is madness, bring back fuel strikes I say!

Congratulations pvr. Personally not managed over the £95 in the X5 yet, but I run it on the cheap stuff and never had it on real vapours since we hit the £1 gallon

£1.06 taffy - not good

Litre

Yes and no, i use my Z as a daily driver since its gets better mileage than the Benz, but my commute is short about 12 miles each way, so i'm able to go about 2 weeks between fill-ups. Just filled up Saturday at $2.25 13.3 gallons around $42 so roughly a little over $80 per month. Even though its a DD i use to like to take a nice drive west to WVA, western maryland, or Skyline drive where the roads get really twisty i don't do that as much now. I seem to be averaging around 26 MPG city/highway mix :driving: In comparison it use to cost around $25 to fill her up :(
