How heavy is the clutch compared to a 3.0si?

I have found over the small period I've owned my ///M it was what I would call heavy to push down but now it feels normal (getting used to it ) but I have found Its either on or off as soon as you start to lift it's moving, now every time I stop at lights or junction it's in neutral until I know I can go, my other cars you can lift a bit to get a bite point but in the ///M it's ready to please you all the time

How many people use a clutch stop, and is there any point ?

I don't, but don't seem to put my foot right down on the clutch either. My concern would be I would adapt incorrectly with one. For what they cost though a few quid I might try one day.

If my car goes to an Indi for its next service I will get the CDV removed, but it doesn't bother me like it did on my old zed.

That is not default behaviour for a Z4M. They are known to have their biting point sitting quite high.
Either you have a clutch stop or there is some air in the system.

When I drove Stuart's I thought the bite point felt high, hence why I asked about the clutch stop. Though I guess you just get used to it like any other car.

When you say sitting quite high, I put the pedal hard down to the floor and as soon as I start to lift it's moving, I have now got very used to it, but I don't sit at lights or junctions in gear as it's hard to keep it pressed down for any period of time, all I know is when it's going it pulls like a train (unbelievable)

On a standard car there is at least a few centimeters play before it starts to move.
I guess the previous owner has installed a clutch stop on yours, this should be adjusted such that you have about 1.5cm dead zone before it starts to bite otherwise you might wear the clutch out more than necessary.

Arrrh ok I will get it checked out the previous owner was chief design engineer for Lotus cars, he probably had it done along with another things I've found out

Let's just all agree that it's fine to disagree.

I'm totally fine with disagreeing but I want to prevent that statements like; "CDV removal is useless in the M" become treated as a fact, this could withhold current ///M owners of removing their CDV, potentially reducing their driving pleasure. :driving:

I took one out from an M, drove it before and after, and then drove mine. No difference to speak of before or after and compared to mine (with CDV).

I took mine out of my previous 3.0, big difference before and after.
I took one out of a 2.5, again a big difference before and after.

I think I am qualified to make the statement therefore that the difference for an M does not have the same impact as for the other engine models. ...
