How cold is too cold to lower the roof?

I have had the roof down at 0deg ,if you are wearing a jacket and the seat heaters are on , whats the problem? , it feels great :D

what other people think , dont really care about that

Consider yourselves lucky, in the Z3 I have to ensure the inside is throughly toasty before dropping the roof otherwise this happens :(

Its never too cold :D

Tim.

I would have to say that its too cold to drop the roof when it makes you look like prat!
got passed by a guy in a mk1 audi tt yesterday and it's not a good look

I honestly don't care whwat other people think about me when I am driving my car, I bought it for me not them! I took a mate of mine out in my old car last winter and he thought we were mad to put the roof down, turned on the heated seats whacked up the heater. He couldn't believe how warm it was! He said to me afterward "I have always looked at people with their roofs down in the cold as complete idiots, but now I understand" he loved it

Told a lie actually - 6.5 degrees was the garage temp, hadn't been outside long enough. It is actually 0 here

Roof still down though

Your a hardier man than me mine is staying up!! And the roof is covered in frost.

A warm wet cloth gets rid of the frost, then a drying towel to get the worst of the water off

With a wind deflector, windows up and the heated seats / heater on, as long as you are not travelling at motorway speeds the cabin actually stays very warm. As Vidge says, I couldn't care less what people think - was out this morning again, roof down off to pick up some bits and go for a sneaky mini hoon home. Also struck me that nobody has a go a motorcyclists in this weather, and they are more exposed even if they are leathered up.

It was a tad slippery though, so the winter wheels are going on today :(

Fair enough the heaters are very good. I have pop out later I will give it a try. If I get hypothermia I am holding you responsible Mr Bing :D

Okay, but you need a hat and gloves otherwise my responsibility is null and void :D

You can go without a hat, but eventually your left ear will go numb :P

There is nothing worse than cold ears. The hat will be on.

Although it might be a pointless conversation. It's just got very dark and is now raining

Years ago I saw a bunch of Morgan owners at their Christmas bash - All dressed up in their DJ's and flying helmets - It was cold with snow flurries - No roof on their cars either!

A guy in a mk1 Audi tt is guna look a prat anyway...

Sod what other people think....unless you bought your car to pose in :poke:

Had my roof down the other day driving back to the office from site, only had my work polo shirt on and it must;ve been about 6 degrees. Seat heaters on, air heaters on full pointing at hands! It was a bit blowy though cos on an A road doing 60, and I took the wind deflector out the other week.

When we test drove the Z4 in Jan, I had it for a weekend. Was driving at night with roof down, even though it was about 2 degrees....the only thing that got cold was the backs of my hands, hence pointing the blowers at them now!
