There should be a stamp on the cover with production dates if it’s been replaced.

Is it visible with the plastic cover on or does that need to be removed?

Plastic cover needs to be removed. Four bolts. Three Alan heads and one normal

Oh I need to have that off anyway to check the plugs and coils.

Group 1 didn't find anything on their healthcheck list other than rear pads needing replacement at some point, but I could do with checking service points.

Eventually had a second call to have my 23i in (remember the first one got as far as car dropped off before it was found that all parts weren’t available) for this work. BMW have confirmed they have the parts held for our car, even though it’s booked for a few weeks time
