Hmmm... dog on the way... what to do...

BMW have a drive event this weekend, and I know the 5 series LCI is due soon so they may be doing some nice deals on the pre-LCI. I can live without updated trim and headlamps if I save several grand!

Aww so cute! I'm sure Penny can fit in the Z for a while?
I'm a cat person, though maybe not for much longer after I discovered dusty paw prints on the boot last week.

Penny, at 4 weeks old on a recent visit... Just three more weeks and she's home. Weeks later no doubt to wee on my white leather seats lol...

Dang, I wish I knew how to load pictures on this forum! On April 20 I added a Miniature Schnauzer to our Family. He is Black/ Silver male which I've named Markus. After I receive his papers showing name of Sire and Dam I will give him a registered name which will have Markus someplace in his papered name.

Already living in our home before the addition of Markus our other Furkids are

Abby, Greyhound Mix

Maxwell, Purebred Italian Greyhound

Missy, Terrier Mix

Mandy, Shih Tzu mix

Note all names with the exception of Abby start with the letter M. My grand daughter told me we can call Abby Mabby if we want to. LOL

Have to say Maniac, that first picture is adorable. And I NEVER use the word adorable :D

I think I've found my thread - dogs + Zs, my two favourite things! Your prospective pup is v cute. I have a veteran, non-scary Staffie, Bob - we often go out for drives together, roof down, bandana blowing in the wind, Bob in the passenger seat - we get a lot of smiles when we draw alongside other cars at the lights!
Taking him on holiday shortly and have bought gortex harness with a seat belt attachment so I can anchor him safely. Will report back.

Love dogs and Zeds fav 2 things in the world. Your new puppy looks so cute Manic :D

Meet Nina, shes a 3 month old lab .. I'm hoping for lots of time for us to go for drives with the roof down when shes a bit bigger.

I have a flat coat retriever called Margot and she's is in the zed at least 2 times a day as she comes to work with me. She lays in the footwell and because the seats are very low she rests her head on the edge (seat cover on). She is much happier in this car than my previous one (Volvo c30)

Your dog will be much smaller so even with a passenger in it should be happy enough in the footwell. If rides an issue just put a thick blanket down. This should also contain the dog hairs!

I did a 4 hour round trip with a my partner and the dog and they both had more than enough room.

My dog LOVES the zed.. proper dog harness, nice quilted blanket to protect the seat leather.
Trust me.. he/she will love it

I think a harness is definitely the way forward. At the moment she rides in her dog bed but constantly wants to crawl into my lap or stands on the transmission tunnel (white leather and polished gloss wood!) while I get into the car after putting her in.

This is my initial issue too. But a dog harness is definitely safer for her and will keep her nicely on "her side".
Don't forget to turn off the passenger airbags also - you don't want the worst to happen when the second worst already has...

Hopefully, she'll develop some interesting traits on your journeys too.
Mine loves nothing more than to give evil stares at truck drivers. He also likes to bark / snap at cars we fly past too. highly amusing :)

My dog doesnt get in the Zed at all...

We have another car that he loves to sit in the back of/generally stink up/slop down the windows, and flap his head out of!

I see you have another flowerpot muncher. I came home yesterday to find out younger JRT had left me this...

Apparently she's also been removing plants from the pots then chomping the pots!
