Hilarious snow cap moment

It is his own fault for driving so close to someone with snow on their roof, common sense not to really. But do equally get annoyed when you see these people with snow all over their car, obscuring lights, number plates etc.

Did a 240 mile round trip yesterday, loads of people with snow on their roofs. Saw 2 or 3 times a slab fly off and smash into the road. Just kept well back!

A piece of ice did fly into my windscreen at one point, didn't see where it had come from, but was frozen solid and sounded like a pebble had hit the windscreen. No damage though thankfully.

Clearly you're joking, but I'm a biker and like a lot of them, will happily punch off your door mirror or put my boot into your door if a useless driver puts me in danger. Be warned. :evil:

I operated on a biker who'd been chased down and knocked off by an angry car driver whose car he'd intentionally damaged. Sure the car driver ended up in court, but the biker definitely lost that arguement So, be careful out there when the red mist decends as you may not be the only one on the road who's lacking self control.

On a lighter note, I didn't clear the snow off my roof last winter when I had only ungloved hands to use as scrapers - clearing the windscreen had been a painful enough experience. It was me who suffered though when I braked hard and the entire roof load of snow slid onto the windscreen jamming the wipers and leaving me completely blind

I think some people are being a bit holier-than-thou on this thread. There are plenty of reasons why you might not clear all the snow off your car. Particularly if there has been a hard frost overnight and it's caked on to the bodywork.

The bottom line is the bloke behind shouldn't have been up his arse.

yes i was joking :lol: early morning traffic on the local A road is like Grand Theft Auto with the bikers making the rules up as they go along cutting between traffic doing 70mph and swerving around cars are my pet hates.

i'm pretty sure if a biker hit me whilst doing so, he'd probably be dead and i'd be innocent

Yeah, the whole biker vs car argument goes back to the stone ages, but there are good and bad examples of both so neither can be tarred with just one brush.

A bad rider will get caught out eventually, and a good rider may still get taken out by a bad driver, so its all pot luck.

deffo with the good and bad. had plenty of good runs in the westy with some bikes in north wales up to the ponderosa. bikes may be quick in a straight line but cant keep up in the twisty bits. also seen some terrible riding on motorways and in rush hour.

there is a chunk of research that suggests why bikes are not seen. it also applies to the westy or any odly shaped vehicle. sometimes it seems like the 103db loud bright red with lights on car has an invisibility cloak. the basic crux is that we subconciously look for a car shape in the middle of the road. a bike at the edge or a low car like the westy do not register as a car so the person doesnt see them. its not that the driver isnt looking its just it doesnt register in that fliting look that we all often do.

i must admit there have been times where i have done it you know gone to pull out then stop as we see the object. i would say we all have done it.

i do think driving the westy or a bike rider learns to be a bit more observant and rubber necked to see stuff.
