Another in a variation of outstanding road trips, this time crossing the Scottish Highlands from coast to coast and back.

Taking in Royal Deeside, the Cairgorms Natgional Park, the Caledonian Canal and the beautiful and tranquil western coasts.

This trip has the advantage of avoiding most of the major arterial routes which will be very busy during the summer.

As well as the normal lunch /coffee stops a visit to at least one famous castle and a distillery are planned for this trip.

Starting at a Premier Inn at Aberdeen and staying near Maillaig for the Saturday night.

Outline route shown subject to more refinement.

Options to join up further south to transit to and from Aberdeen.

Retricted to a maximum of 8 cars for logistics reasons.

Apologies Pete...I was speaking to the boss this morning and she made a good point that I've got a road trip in Apr and then we're off to Jamaica for two weeks in May. I might need to watch the spend so please can I go back to a maybe. Cheers.

Hi Peter, I’ve just booked a hotel for the Mallaig, well or not as the case is.

There’s already NO accommodation in Mallaig for that weekend and looking at other accommodation for next year the choice is very limited. So based on that I would strongly advise anyone who is even considering any of the runs in Scotland, no matter who’s organising, to look at booking now. The cancellation policy is generally pretty good, I can cancel this booking up until 23/06/22

I’ve booked into a hotel in Arisaig which is about 5 miles away. There are currently 3 rooms left in this hotel. The details for anyone interested are

The Old Library and Lodge, Arisaig. The room was £135, which is one of the cheapest in the area for that date by quite a bit.

Peter, could you also put us down for a room each night in the PI Aberdeen

Yes, those rooms have all gone.

I nearly got caught out and booked the second one until I noticed it’s on bloody Skye, so not quite the 4.69 miles stated unless I’m swimming it
