My car is at 65k, on reaching 100k I would probably replace the vanos solenoids as they seemed to be a problem on other BMWs. Not expensive and easy to get at. And new set of ignition coils.
But any other known areas, wheel bearings, ball joints?

Managed this on a e36 2.5L engine before it was 'murdered' (crashed into and written off). Was still going as well as the day i bought it!
N52 engine issues as others have indicated here but maybe wise to do an alternator strength check too.
Fsh indicating regular oil changes with good/same oil type backed up with receipts if taken to a garage.
