Hi All, I have been lurking for a few weeks now since I bought my Zed 06 2.5i, great car and really enjoy driving it, completely different from my previous cars. Great forum with some very interesting topics. I have a question too, I have no AUX on this model but would it be possible to connect an Ipod interface by retro fitting ? I have the black radio/cd unit. Will down load pictures soon, by the way are there any other girl Z4 drivers on here ???

:driving:

Hi and welcome! Get some pictures up asap (of the Z) :D

You can fit a basic aux in to connect your iPod or other MP3 player this works fine for most people and is the easiest approach. The cable required can be bought from the dealer for around £35 ish. You'll need to be handy with a screwdriver but there are guides in the how to section. There are other more complete options that involve 3rd party bits for deeper integration, especially if you have the sat-nav screen. You can search for intravee, DICE or dension gateway for further info on those.

There are other girly Z4 drivers on here. Some are just men with 2.0 litre Z's (lights the blue touch paper...) some are actual real-life women.

Thanks Playalistic, will do some searching ref to Ipod interface, I do have the Sat Nav screen. I not sure if it would be a good idea for me to be let lose with a screwdriver ! so I will more than likely end up at a BMW dealer to do the job. I will watch out for the guys with those 2.0 Zed's. !

Hi and welcome tintin :)

Whereabouts are you?we live in Caister in Norfolk,I see few z4's on the road round here but nobody on the forum :(

There is plenty you can do to the car,if I can do it anybody can ;)

Hi navid.v,

I live near Diss and also see a few Zeds around, would be interesting to see if anyone on here lives in the Diss area too. Are there any meets in East Anglia ? looking at this forum there are a few additions I would like to have and I think I might well be sending more dosh, have changed the alloys already from 16's to 18's and that has made a such a difference to the look of the car, wouldn't mind changing the aerial to a stubby one as mine seems to keep bending over not sure if it is suppose to do that as it does feel a bit too flexible :( If you see a dark blue (Monaco) zed with a bendy aerial than please give us a wave !!

Gannet: will try and get some good pic's soon......of the car :D

Welcome to the forum :)
I have been quoted just over £200 + vat plus fitting by BMW to put i-pod connectivity in the glovebox of my E89. I have an auxilliary plug in the car but it won't allow the car to read any data from the i-phone i connect to it to play music. Not the end of the world but it does mean i can't use the steering wheel controls to change songs etc. You set the playlist on its way and that's it, if you swap source the iphone is still playing.
Just out of interest does anyone know if the ipod connection will work with the iphone? BMW chappie wasn't sure and i'm kinda slow on the digital uptake

Welcome tintin :) As playalistic said there are quite a few aux guides in the how to section. That section is a nightmare for your wallet (or on this occasion purse) as you will want to tinker with everything!

Enjoy the forums.

with regards to meets, not as far as I know,if you check the section for meets,I have asked the same question, there are few members keen to meet, but we haven't arranged anything yet,so we might have one someday :)

I was @ Bressingham Steam Museum in September, lovely day and with roof down,it was even better.

...and some men who buy 3.0 and 3.2 litre models, are only compensating for their inadequacies in other areas.

Hi,

I'm a new Z4 driver too, female, and only live about 8 miles from Diss! I would definitely be interested in a meet up too.

I'll look out for you tintin and all the other Norfolk drivers!

I've also got some plans for mods - in fact i've just bought my first one - which of course had to be a stubby - looks so much better! Would also like to either get my 108s refurbed or go for some new alloys and get rid of my run-flats! Would also like to change the amber indicators and get some clear ones.

Nice to see another female, Norfolk Z4 driver on here - enjoy!
