Hi All, newbie from Suffolk/Norfolk Border. Question too

Hi LEC, I only live 5 miles from Diss, will keep an eye open for you and give you a wave. I drive a dark blue (monaco) 2.5i . 06reg. Don't see too many Zed's in this area. ! This forum is great but very dangerous to the purse, bought the car in July and have already replaced the alloys wheels but not the runflats yet ! Chrome exhaust trims, boot net to keep my work laptop case in one place and a stubby on ordered, and not to mention all the specialised car waxes, polish & cloths  Did the garage replace your stubby or did you do it yourself ?? Not sure if you unscrew it from underneath the rear wing or on top where the base is.
It would be nice to have a zed meet in Norfolk/Suffolk, there must be more of us out there, did see 3 zed's on Saturday in Norwich, perhaps we can get a few guy's & gals to meet next year. Must get some pictures on here soon, before I have to clean it again !!! Enjoy your zed too.

Welcome - to eveyone who introduced themselves in this thread!

To adress one of the OP questions.. i have an intravee kit in my car to connect my ipod/ iphone and it's possibly one of the best mods i have done - well worth the money if you have a nav screen.

My car had the aux in under the climate controls.. but i think thats on 2007 onw cars.

Hi Aquazi, thanks for the info on the intravee kit, will look into it as I do have the SatNav fitted to this car. The car is 06 plate so will have to investigate to see if there is an aux present.

Hi all newcomers. Welcome.

I agree with Aquazi - the intravee kit is a fantastic mod. The Ipod lives out of sight and I have access to all my music at my fingertips.

Oh, and it really wasn't that difficult to install

The existing aerial just simply screws off from the exterior. Easiest mod around 8)

Hi, got my stubby today and fitted, like you said Playalistic a very easy mod and looks so much better, am I now a member of the stubby appreciation club ! :D

Good stuff tintin! It does make all the difference. It certainly can become an expensive hobby being a Z4 enthusiast! The forum is great for ideas and in fact I wouldn't even have ended up with my car if it wasn't for joining on here and posting a 'wanted' ad, which the previous owner responded to. People's suggestions and AlanJ's buying checklist was particularly helpful, so thanks all!

What new alloys did you get btw tintin?

I have only seen a handful of Z4s around locally. I'll look out for you. As you can see I drive a black 3.0i.

Hi LEC, my alloys are 18" MV3's, spoke design and not the best to keep clean, Sill trying to take pictures without the car being covered in water beading due to the rain we are having here Do you travel much on the A140 ? if so I might pass you one day. :) Sounds like you are enjoying driving your zed too, I must admit I love the bends around here the car sticks to the road like glue !

Hi Norman, your car does look very familar I might have passed you a couple of times on Victoria road, both times the hood was down and it would have been Saturday's and fairly early in the morning, but on the other hand it might be another zed in the Diss area !
I will keep an eye open now and give you a wave. Nice looking Zed

Nice alloys tintin - did you buy them after you bought your car? I'm contemplating either getting some refurbed original BMW alloys (not sure which style yet), refurbing my 108s as they are growing on me or getting some non-standard alloys (e.g., BBS LMs), but i'm concerned that it will raise my insurance. So i'm still thinking....!

I do travel on the A140 every day so will look out for you tintin. I love the roads too! I drove it to Wales on the weekend and those roads are even better :) Although when i went to drive it back on Sunday the engine management light came on and i could tell that the exhaust was misfiring :( Any way, it turns out to be an engine coil thankfully and not something more costly :)

I'll be on the look out for you too Norman, although i have a feeling we may already have acknowledged each other a couple of months ago.

All the best.

You unscrew on top, just unscrew job done, :)

Peterborough here so anyone near let me know as up for meet too.

Hi Lec

Bought the alloys off e-bay, a genuine sale too and at £550 I thought it was a good deal too. The alloys had runflats with good tread on them so will keep the tyres on there until they need replacing, might go for non runflats as most members on here say thats the route to go. The car had 16" inch alloys and I must admit I couldn't wait to change them. Nice alloy's certainly make a difference and there are some very nice ones to be seen on this forum. Hopefully the engine coil won't cost too much, its always a worry when something happens I think I need to meet a technical mechanic just in case any thing goes wrong :D

Might see you soon
