Hi all, first BMW car.

So, Scubaregs. Were/are you a diver also?
Reason I ask (apart from your username) is I was a diver up until around 10 years ago.

Yes, did a dive in Barbados around twenty years ago and was hooked. Only dive on holiday, nearly always Barbados with the original instructor who is now a very good friend. Small dive boat, Ram the owner is 75 this year and still diving most days. I leave my gear with the exception of my regs with him. The boat has a very loyal following and as a result we have a large group of friends from it, in fact we are staying with one couple in their beachfront condo in September, all going well. We should have been getting married on the beach next month, but Covid put paid to that.

Why did you stop diving, may I ask?

I had a bike accident and damaged my knee, thigh muscle and cracked ribs.
It took a while for my ripped thigh muscle to go back to normal and over 18 months for my knee to heal.
My knee for years gave me problems while carrying stuff and as my diving was mostly shore based here in Scotland with a fair bit of weight to carry over rough ground I thought I might have ended up a liability so gave it up and sold all my kit other than my Scubabpro mask and Cressi fins and snorkel.

Ah shame, not a fan of shore dives, prefer boat.

So saying Pete who stayed aboard whilst we dived didn't have the best eyesight, more than once our group has bobbed about the Caribbean for an hour or so watching the boat going back and forth whilst he tried to find us.

Welcome Scubaregs. Congrats on the new car and glad you’ve chosen one in the best colour!

Cheers, San Francisco red was my preferred colour, lucky to find a car that ticked all the boxes for me in it.

Car is being brought up from main BMW dealer in England, so expecting it to be filthy when it arrives.

First decent day here is showing as Thursday, my first shift back after 4 days off, could be a top down drive in at 4am.

Why not, we were out playing in ours after midnight at the weekend

Nice Pics Andy.

Did a few top down runs home at 5am in the Boxster, all motorway though alas.

Your passenger looks none too happy though, did she want to drive?

That is her happy  I’ll not tell her you said that. Think it was just the timing of the picture, she was in great form as usual.

No she loves being out in it but won’t drive it. Think it’s a combination of her being a short @rse, being an auto and too quick for her. I’ve asked her quite a few times if sh wants a shot and she says she prefers getting driven around 👸

Hoi, i'm a short arse myself! :P

Pretty sure I'm a manual though.......

Lynn says she will drive the Z4, I have my doubts.

  I’m sure there’s a gearstick punchline in there somewhere.

Kathleen’s a right short @rse, she’s said right from the start she won’t drive it. When they said about setting the keys up at the dealer she said don’t bother doing one for her

Lynn claims to be 5'2, which is funny as she's 5 inches shorter than my 5'5.
