The temp gauge dropping when this problem occurs doesn't sound as if this is a fuel problem, more like an intermittent power problem, especially as it's not throwing up any fault codes. A first step would be to check the main feed from the battery to the front of the car and the engine ground return (Low on the RHS of the engine - Braided strap/cable). The ECU's on Zed's seem to be very voltage sensitive and all manor of random issues occur when the voltage is low!
