HELP!! E89 Park Sensor - Help I'm stuck in France!!

If the terminal connector on the car battery is even slightly loose, it can cause issues, so even though a guy who knew what he was doing fitted it, it’s an easy thing to do to not tighten it quite enough.

Can you pop the front grill out and get your hand up there to pull the lever to open the bonnet. Then you can hook up a battery charger or booster/

I suggested this a while ago on another thread, I was told it was a myth and the locking mechanism couldn't be accessed this way.
Maybe different for US spec??

Feel for you OP, hope you get it sorted soon

Thanks for the suggestions. Removed front grill, absolutely no access to the bonnet catch. Tried the electric toothbrush/fob thing and yeah I'm heading towards the fact that my helpful friend didn't in fact tighten the battery connectors correctly as the red alarm L.E.D just above the rearview mirror isn't even flashing like usual.
Time to call the Insurance breakdown as there is literally no access to the car any more. Update to follow....

I am sure Recovery will be able to get into the car with a "Slim Jim". You could also go to Facebook Marketplace and place say Paris as your location and search for SERRURIER.

I assume you haven't got the ski hatch and cant reach through to the back?

Otherwise, i'm not sure there is a way into the boot if the battery is disconnected. You may need to be thinking radical, cut a huge whole in the boot lid, probably a panel you can buy without too much trouble.
Anyone know of a way in, can the badge be dismantled to release the lock somehow?

I'd be trying to come to an arrangement with the car park to buy sone time and at least rescue part of your holiday.

Yeah Stash36 I have the Ski Hatch. But I can't get into the car to access it. I'm seriously considering breaking the small quarter panel window, reaching in and if I'm correct, if I pull the front door lever twice shouldn't that manually activate the door so I can open it? At least then I could reach through the ski hatch and make sure the battery terminals are connected, then open up the bonnet and try jump starting from the front.
Just been onto my insurance and although I'm covered for EU driving, it doesn't cover breakdown so time to think outside the box.
Would this work anyone before I add another massive bill to my list?

As you dont have the key for the drivers door lock would it not be cheaper to just bust the door lock and get in that way rather than a window?
Maybe a locksmith would be a better idea to keep damage and costs to a minimum.

I think they deadlock, don't think the handle will work. I'd check but I'm at work.
Can someone try this, lock the car with a window open and see if the interior handle works.
Ski hatch is a bit of hope mate!

Most Horrible situation, feel for you. :(

2nd the locksmith, called one out in Florida when i locked keys in the boot of a rental.
He was in the car in seconds.

Nictrix that's not a bad shout mate. They hotel guy who 'helped' me yesterday is apparently coming in, in a few hours with a tool box to sort the issue. He doesn't know that when he left yesterday the battery subsequently has potentially lost one of it's terminals so not sure exactly what he's gonna do but I'll hold on till then. At least he speaks English and might be able to contact a locksmith for me.
Update to follow....

With the car locked the interior handle does not open the car

It moved the handle and the button on the door but it’s firmly locked

I did try reaching the handle from the rear quarter light but I could not reach the handle from there

Had to use the driver window to reach the interior handle

Remember that once the door is opened the boot will still be locked as it needs power to open.
I would think the best bet would be to open the bonnet and get jumper cables onto the points under the bonnet then see if the boot will open.
This might be easier than trying to get through the through load panel.

The.Analyst many thanks mate you just saved me £££££££
Nictrix just want to make sure if one of the terminals isn't connected because I can't access the boot, but I manage to get the bonnet open and try to at least spring it into life so I can activate the boot unlock mechanism will it still work, given the electrical 'loop' has been compromised because of a free hanging terminal? Sorry electrics not my strong point.
Locksmith is looking like the best option so far. Let's see what the hotel guy comes up with...

Electrics arnt my strong point either but Im sure it has been commented on here before that if the battery is disconnected using the points under the bonnet will supply power.

With the grills removed you should be able to access the two catches at either side, use a screwdriver to move the catch back and allow the bonnet to pop open, you may need help pressing the corner of the bonnet down to relieve the pressure on the latch

Happened to me  , accidentally shut the boot lid when the battery was disconnected :o luckily I could still get in the cabin and pull the bonnet latch. Jump leads to the points under the bonnet and it gave enough power to press the central locking button twice and open the boot :D
