Hellrot Coupe Respray Progress

How much would a colour change be for a similar car?

He’s done a good job it looks lovely!

I've no idea mate but id imagine a good bit more as theres lots of bits he never touched that he would have to do if it was changing colour like under the bonnet, engine bay, door sills etc

How's he done for overspray? I noticed he masked off the lower grille on the front bumper rather than remove it - I've considered getting mine done to rectify stone chips, but overspray would annoy me more than the road rash, so I've held off.

Looks amazing! . I was going to ask about PPF but I see you mentioned ceramic coating. You'll be wanting to baby it until that goes on

To be honest there are little bits of overspray, I've not inspected the grille but there is a little bit of overspray on the black plastic on the mirrors underneath, something that i imagine can be removed with a little bit of scotchbrite and cleaner.
If things like that would bother you I'd recommend either removing some bits of trim yourself or asking nicely, I'm sure they'd be happy to do it :) also in the door sills you can see the transition if you look closely enough, probably take that away with some compound and a DA polisher.

Just nipped out to have a look for you, these are the only bits I can see, its more areas where the tape didnt stop the spray, the last one doesn't look as bad in person i just wanted to show it as clearly as possible. The right side of the grille is probably the worse here, might need to remove the grille and give it a touch up

In fairness my father used to repair and paint cars years ago and still has a few friends in the car bodywork trade. That isn’t that bad for the price you paid, had you paid 2.5-3k you would perhaps want perfection.
They won’t take much effort to put right really.
To put into summary I purchased a 3.0si a few years ago and had it resprayed at a cost of £700
You can imagine it needed a good few days machine polishing to get it to a standard I was happy with but at the time every other bodywork place wanted 2k plus.
Can never understand people’s expectations at this price point

Yes my thoughts exactly, rest of it is pretty perfect and a hundred times better that before, I know you get what you pay for but to me I think the standard far exceeds the price I paid, still chuffed with it  :D

I didn't expect that :o no matter what price you pay you should expect a quality job. Cost shouldn't come into it.

How do you go about fixing that?

I hadn't really noticed to be honest, the rest of the car was looking so good
Id probably take off the mirror caps and give the plastics a rub down with scothbrite, for the sills the cars away for a detail and machine polish in about a months time so ill ask the guy to focus some effort on them, and for the grille I'll probably remove that too and take it back to him to repair, he gave me a tin of the paint so I can colour match it perfectly
