Hello, just paid the deposit on a Z4.

Here an photo from today. But it has started with some warnings, I had the combo brake, tire, and stability control warning lights on for some time. Connected a cheap OBD2 to check and the lights disappeared, no codes on the scanner.
But now eventually the alarm is triggering, don't know if it is too sensitive to the traffic or an issue

Welcome to the world of Z4 gremlins part of the ownership experience.. The cars are so robust but a bit of diva if something not right..
If it has been sitting on a forecourt for a while not being driven much it's possible the battery wasn't holding much charge.
I've had random warning lights appear a few times on Z4s (and 3 Series) when the batteries were pretty depleted. Hopefully now you are using it the warning lights won't reappear, but if they do it might be worth checking the battery health.
If the alarm is going off for no apparent reason it's quite often due to the sensor for the bonnet being defective, which you can either disconnect or replace.

Or stick some heavy duty gaffer tape over.

As you are getting so many electrical faults check battery voltage, a weak battery will cause this. Fully charged it should read 12.8v, 12.5v is marginal, when you start the engine the voltage drops and messes the electrics up, the alternator should charge at 14v, check the drive belt too.
My old Z4 battery wouldn't charge over 12.5v causing problems, Im using it on an older classic it's fine but not on modern cars with sensitive electrics
I just wanted to update that I spoke to John, the man who sold me the car. He has agreed to take a look at the sensors next week. Today I had the complete christmas tree on, including the oil light (I am monitoring the oil level). The battery has been replaced, so it shouldn't be the battery that is causing the issues.
Sounds like a low battery issue, or possibly old codes from before the battery was replaced. I’d give the dealer a chance to sort as you obviously like the car. It does look lovely and original.
Hi Alan, @Number5 would we be able to have a discussion about relocating my pump to the boot, it’s currently loose placed back in the arch well. It’s actually opening and closing the roof now, after it’s been moved about, whereas it was previously struggling to close the roof and needing a little help.
More than happy to travel to you I’m just north of Newport so about 40 mins from the M4/M5 interchange.

I can help you coding the airbag module.
Which one is it? If you go to version information it will tell you the part number as it would be useful if I have a spare just in case.
Looking at the data on your scanner, you have probably got a dead cell in the battery.
That's probably good news then, as hopefully a new battery will mean you can clear those codes and they won't return.
Thinking back I did start my current one with a jumper pack and the alarm went off but stopped within a minute - it just felt like longer! So it may solve that as well.

To keep the information trail live for future reference, it seems all three airbag modules have the incorrect chassis number. It is fairly unlikely all three have been changed, so my next suggestion is that it may be a replacement Light Control Module that hasn’t been properly coded. The airbag modules can pick up the VIN from that and the Instrument Cluster. If there’s a discrepancy it will then put the airbag light on.

Is the tamper dot illuminated? That'll confirm the swap of dash or light switch without VIN coding
