Hello all

I'm new here, yesterday I bought a 58 plate, E85, 3.0 si. However, I'm not new to BMWs, I've had 12 over the last 30+ years. The last two over a 7 year period were a 135i and a 130i. I improved both with suspension mods and proper tyres...the 135i also got engine mods, of course!

I've been running a bangernomics MX5 for the last year and it's been reliable and fun. Almost the ideal bangernomics car: it's cost me one drop link, one can of oil and one oil filter! I like the soft top experience, but I got bored and hungry for a bit more performance again.

My Z4 is low mileage, manual and of course has the delightful 3 litre N52 motor. It's pretty well equipped and the last owner fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, but also had a minor bump and so it has a broken Xenon headlight, side repeater/indicator and a dented front wing. I'm on the hunt for both...

I look forward to learning from your experiences. No doubt I shall be asking lots of questions, but I'll read historical threads first...

Hi and welcome aboard.

If you've had a 130i you'll know all about the wonderful N52 engine! I like them so much I bought a 330i last year.

Did anyone mention photos yet?

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I used to get quite involved on BabyBMW when I was modifying the 135i...but actually, I don't think I ever posted a pic!

What's that phone app that works well with this forum platform? I remember being told that it's the easiest way to post pics...

We're fortunate here the site allows photo's to be uploaded directly, within reason.

New post, then click on Add files, bottom left and take it from there. :)

Excellent - thanks, that's so much less hassle than BabyBMW!

I shall take pics and post then...

Yes, things moved on from needing to use a hosting site on here years ago.

M3Cutters still works that way though - probably one of the reasons I don't visit it that often!
