Hello from the Fylde Coast

Hello from sunny Blackpool. I’ve been lurking here for a little while, but have finally taken the plunge and bought a 56 plate coupe that has previously belonged to Steve84N of this parish.
Looks like there will be fun, although I’m yet to fully appreciate the significance of all the mods that seem to have been done.
I should be collecting my new toy at the end of the week. Questions to follow.

Mark

Nice choice, it seems surprising how long Steve’s old car has been on the market - hope you got it for a good price?

Chris

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Coupe owner.

I bet the week can't go quick enough now! :)

Just don't forget some photos - once you've managed to stop driving!

At last another member from North of Watford Gap. Welcome to the club and from myself also in sunny Blackpool. Look forward to seeing your newly acquired Zed on the road. :driving:

Cheers chaps. Pics to follow as soon as I’ve collected her.
Initial questions whilst I’m waiting:
Is there a service manual of some sort?
If my car is a 2006 e86, what motor do I have, N52?
What is a Grom?

Mark

Sorry, I can't help with 2 of your questions, but your engine will definitely be an N52.

Apart from the M Coupe, the 3.0Si N52 is the only engine ever fitted to UK E86s.

Its a USB/Bluetooth connection port that I don't think is fitted as standard on the e86? You can retro fit them and there is plenty of advice on how to do it. Why do you ask the question? Has it been or were you told it was fitted? And yes you do have the N52 engine fitted in your new Zed.

No, E86s don't come with a Grom in that case - just a 3mm Aux input jack.

Thanks again.
Questions arose after finding posts on here by the previous owner, Steve. I understand things like the LSD and Eibach. Grom was a new one on me. Sounds useful, if I can operate it. I’m a bit of a Luddite. My current toy car is a ‘68 AH Sprite.

I'm a bit Luddite too - I've only had a Smartphone a month.

But my toy is at least from the 21st Century - my Z4C of course! :)

68 AH Sprite? Class....... just Class is what you have and in abundance. Please, Please can we see some pics of your second toy? What a pic that would make............. Your newly acquired Zed (modern toy) versus your 68 AH Sprite (classic toy).... Cant wait......

Only if it’s a 2007 model year. Weren’t standard fit until that time.

Thanks, every day is a school day.

My first Coupe was built on 10 October 2006 and had the Aux in the bottom of the dash.

But my current one was built on 18 September 2006 and has the Aux in the glovebox, so presumably it was fitted by a previous owner.
