Hey all!

New to the forum, and a new (to me) Z4 SE 2.0 :D
So many great ideas, tutorials and topics on this forum. All of a suddend I feel I need £10k to make this car my own!

As she stands:

Are there any lists anywhere of basic "To Do's" asap when you ge a Z4?
For example SixSpeeds' "Drain Plug DIY" https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63033&highlight=top+drain
Seems to be pretty important thing to check ... i don't want to miss anything else

There are a few things I need to do pretty quickly - but mainly cosmetic:
  • Headlight renovation (Inside condensation and external polish)
  • Basic detail (Paint decontamination, clay, minor scratch removal, seal and protect)
  • Roof proofing
  • Paint rear lip (heavily stone-chip damaged)

Thanks in advance, Adam

Welcome to the forum, very smart looking Zed.
The condensation in the lights can be down to the rubber cap that covers the bulb area, not fitted correctly.
Check to see if your roof motor has been moved to the boot, should see either a false panel (Moved) or a recess (Not moved) by the passenger side wheel well

Thank you very much @firebobby for the info.

Condensation:
For the lights, is there anyone who sells just the rubber seal/gasket replacements you could recomend? Or are complete units the only way: Something similar to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Satz-Abd...510911?hash=item25ea4a0abf:g:BewAAOSwlxRaVhem

I had seen a few posts on this motor move. But i'm not sure why you would need to do this? Is it in a silly position from standard?

Either way, I will check tonight.

Re the roof motor location, not one of BMW's best ideas. Many on here have moved/had them moved to the boot. The original place is a wet and dirty place for a electric motor to live.
If you remove the light cover, you may get away with cleaning the area and then make sure its fitted correctly.

Hello n welcome saw this on Facebook Marketplace looks tidy enough, only up the road in Bolton
Hey!
Yeh, it has only been advertised for a few days. (And to be honest a massive impulse buy on my part!)
Might see you about if you venture to the Manc. City Centre!

Hi and welcome - roadster well done

I'd make these your last posts if you want to save money - somehow this forum is a great place for deciding to spend more cash on your Zed

I am Eccles Greater Manchester and have moved two hood motors on my own cars so can help you do yours

The first I removed the whole roof, the second I did with a lot of huffing and puffing as well as swearing but did it without removing the roof

Cost would be some Velodrome vouchers as I don't drink either way not too much.

It sounds like you've got the bug already!

Maybe you'll want to add ZHP gear-knob to the list if your car doesn't already have one. It's well worth it!

Cheers all, ZHP is on the list! (Unless anyone has one to sell - I'll check the other pages too)

But first I appear to have another issue ... Car (appears) to be running/driving fine, I stopped at a friends house (did nto turn off engine) 20mins later get back in and i'm greeted with this:
