Hi everyone,

I bought my 2005 Z4 2.0 back in 2018, with 45k miles on the clock. Ran it as my daily until COVID hit and being imprisoned by WfH since.

My first car was a Peugeot 106 and I’ve owned 2 other Peugeots since. I had a beaut of an Alfa Romeo 147 T Spark but unfortunately wrote it off on the A12 a few years back when someone in an SUV a few cars in front of me ā€˜lost control’ driving in a straight line (i.e. insurance job).

I have fallen head over heels with my Zed and can’t imagine parting with it now. I’ve had a couple annoying little issues with it that I’ve overcome. I had some new brake discs fitted in 2019 but the mechanics didn’t set the handbrake correctly within the disc so had an incredibly loud and embarrassing screech, but it did lead to me buying the tools needed for basic maintenance on it so swings and roundabouts. I’ve also recently had a parasitic drain on the battery which I identified was coming from the Radio/Head Unit. After pulling the fuses, unplugging the radio and refitting the problem sees to have disappeared. I’ve also fitted cup holders as their absence was annoying my girlfriend, so to placate some of her moaning about the ā€˜impracticality’ of the Zed I had to fit them.

I’m planning on retrofitting a Bluetooth or Aux cable to the head unit in the near future aswell.

Look forward to being part of this community, sharing the love for these cars and learning new stuff about the Zed!

Sorry for the essay!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Now you have finally joined all we need are some photos of your car!

Thanks everyone! Yeah I’m biased but I think it’s lovely in red. Have a soft spot for black and gunmetal grey ones too.

Lovely in red and welcome to the forum.
So the A12 - are you an Essex, Suffolk or Norfolk based Zed?

Welcome aboard. Lovely colour that.
Maybe you can get up to one of our monthly coffee morning meets in Norfolk some time?

I am Essex based, Chelmsford to be exact! Is there a big Essex contingent on here?
There’s certainly a few of you in Essex, for sure

It’s the last Sunday of every month

To be honest Inkey, the best ones are at The Old Ram  . At The Three Horseshoes parking is limited and we always end up in the field at the back. We do meet up beforehand at this meet for a nice drive up in convoy.

Your call though :D
