Hi everyone,
I bought my 2005 Z4 2.0 back in 2018, with 45k miles on the clock. Ran it as my daily until COVID hit and being imprisoned by WfH since.
My first car was a Peugeot 106 and Iāve owned 2 other Peugeots since. I had a beaut of an Alfa Romeo 147 T Spark but unfortunately wrote it off on the A12 a few years back when someone in an SUV a few cars in front of me ālost controlā driving in a straight line (i.e. insurance job).
I have fallen head over heels with my Zed and canāt imagine parting with it now. Iāve had a couple annoying little issues with it that Iāve overcome. I had some new brake discs fitted in 2019 but the mechanics didnāt set the handbrake correctly within the disc so had an incredibly loud and embarrassing screech, but it did lead to me buying the tools needed for basic maintenance on it so swings and roundabouts. Iāve also recently had a parasitic drain on the battery which I identified was coming from the Radio/Head Unit. After pulling the fuses, unplugging the radio and refitting the problem sees to have disappeared. Iāve also fitted cup holders as their absence was annoying my girlfriend, so to placate some of her moaning about the āimpracticalityā of the Zed I had to fit them.
Iām planning on retrofitting a Bluetooth or Aux cable to the head unit in the near future aswell.
Look forward to being part of this community, sharing the love for these cars and learning new stuff about the Zed!
Sorry for the essay!
