Heavier gear knobs?

I find the ZHP makes shifting feel ALOT better.

Not tried the Storm, but previously had a Momo polished aluminium knob, used to be too hot to touch if parked in the sun and my ring used to scratch it up real bad.

Have since got rid of the rings tho lol, and I will be sticking with leather knobs in future :oops:
 
+1 to ZHP. I too had an aluminium gearknob on a previous car and in summer it would often burn my hand. The ZHP feels so nice to shift with and has the benefit of a nice leather coating :thumbsup:
 
I have a ZHP with chrome top, which is great :)

storm looks nice but I will worry all the time about scratching it and also feeling too cold or too hot.
 
listen to all you softies! too hot too cold! iv got it on and its 1derees C now and yes it is cold but it looks so good :) next you guys will be trading in the hard ride of the Z on the speed bumps for a mpv :roll:
 
Just fitted my (new to me) Storm Motorworx knob, can't believe the difference in feel for the better over the OEM knob even though it was only a very short drive. :driving:
Only problem was there where no grub screws supplied with it (bought it 2nd hand) so despite knowing better hit Halfords and left without grub screws so went home and hit the Internet and discovered Stig Fasteners, though I have a feeling I have used them before for some metric fine bolts I needed to fit crash bungs on my R1.
Anyway the screws arrived next day delivery and the postage was more than screws, they seem to stock just about every nut & bolt you can think of, so if you are modding and need a bolt. They are now in my favourites for future use.

As for feeling cold in the morning I have now finally fitted winter tyres and the temp outside is in double figures :headbang:
 
Then you shouldnt try and sit on your gearstick :)

Not sure how the first owner could have lost the screw on the Storm unless being very careless.

There is a small hex bolt, just remember to push the gear knob down hard so the bolt goes under the ridge, otherwise it will slide off at some stage.

PVR i fitted mine and pushed as hard as i could (without breaking anything) but it still didnt look like the screws were going under that ridge, it would need to drop by 2 to 3 mm to get under the ridge. ill try re fit it tomorrow if it definatly can go further down.
 
I had the same issue. I could tell by the scratch mark on the actual metal bar where the gear knob sits on, how much I was off and that was about a similar distance. Case of almost sitting on it to get it on properly.

You say screws - but there is only 1 though?
