Heater/Aircon issue

The battery died and had to be replaced on my 2007 2.0i Z4 and since the new battery has been installed, the heater fan and the air con does not work.
This happened a few years back when the battery went flat but at that time the car was covered by an extended warranty and fixed at the main dealer.
I've checked all the fuses and wondered if there was some form of reset to do.

It could be some sort of transport mode. However, I would have thought other bits would not work if it was in transport mode.

Very much sounds like transport mode. Check if your rear window demistor works...if not, it’s definitely transport mode. When the main dealer ’fixed’ it last time they should have deleted transport mode rather than just resetting it. Take it to a decent indy next time and question them on transport mode before comitting.

Saying that, it pretty easy to delete yourself if you can install ISTA.

Transport mode is supposed to be deleted during the PDI, but for some reason many garages seem to just disable it - maybe it's quicker, or more likely they don't really know what they are doing!

As I understand it ISTA is a software package that lets you read and clear fault codes on BMWs and update the car's settings.

Might be an idea to put your location in on your profile so it appears in the side box of your posts, also the model of Z you have with year as a signature at the bottom of your posts, saves having to type it all the time when you post..
