Heated steering wheel

It's possibly the biggest first-world problem I can think of but ... is it possible to retrofit the heated steering wheel feature?

I've come across the switch on eBay that goes on the side of the steeling wheel - I'm probably wrong but is that just a plug n play or do I need a specific steering wheel (mine's the m-sport steering wheel that came with my Z4 2.8 )

I'd have thought you need a steering wheel that has the elements plus coding to make it work.. Not seen anyone else do it but it might be possible. Look up the parts on realoem..

Nice option to have, they work well but yes,you need the specific steering wheel with the heating element in. Plus there’ll be a relay needed which may or not be there as standard. If not I suspect it’ll be a no go easily but it’ll be doable, at what cost and hassle I don’t know though.

That's easily do'able........ just very expensive. Last time I saw a heated steering wheel for sale it was £270 and about £60 (with steering column shroud) for the switch, so expensive then!!

Tbh ive got one on my 2series vert ..it ok...
But never felt the need on mi Z . Just turn the vents towards mi hands ,dont ever wear gloves.
Been out today tip down -2 nice n toasty
