I see lots of posts about broken/leaking headlight washers, so thought it was worth posting this extract from the MOT testers handbook;

If your E85/86 was registered before 01/09/2009 - so nearly all of them, you can just disable them and not have the front half of you car covered in water. If you direct your MOT tester to the MOT handbook, although you really shouldn’t need to, they cannot fail your car for this.
If they are not leaking then simply removing fuse 40 should do the job, if they are leaking, pull the fuse and bung the tube at the washer fluid reservoir.
