Hi All

Can anyone recommend a good product for polishing the perspex headlights of my 2006 Z?

They are a little "Dull" and I think its spoiling the overall look of the front end

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Mark

Meguirs do a 2 part polish and cleaner. Used it on mine with a pc polisher. Low speed in case heat builds up and melts the lens, else then it's new ones.

If very bad you can fine grade sand them down first. Care and confidence though :)

Thats good to know, just in case hypothetically someone had clipped the underside of his 4x4 bumper while driving his Zed out of a tight spot and grazed the headlight......hypothetically. 8)

What were the results like?

Use Greygate Chemical Co. PLASTIC HEADLAMP RESTORER £7.99 from Ebay, its well good, that will sort your lights out!!!!

Results on mine made lights look 'as new'
Frankly it's just a case if being gentle
And not allowing heat build up. I'd say almost any product that is very fine will work.

Laceoupade - those hypothetical scratches always come out well.

if your lights are too bad you can use a polishing mop first (see youtube how to restor head lights) but my lights just needed a good rub with the restorer and they looked loads better!

I 2nd that Paddy, used it on notb my Z3's and z4 lights, if you think about it toothpaste is designed to be gently abrasive so not to damage tooth enamel but to get rid of dirt and reduce staining.

I'm sure toothpaste would work as it's just a fine abrasive powder. Like anything it's about time and patience to get headlights gleaming. Elbow grease or power tools used gently

Will do Andy........On the flip side i gave the car another good going over this weekend and it looks awsome....those lines are just amazing and I dont think that I will ever get fed up of cleaning it. Next job though is new rear disks and pads all round...rears look past their best. Have you had any new disks on your 2.0 ? If so what did you go for?

Also have you done anythiing with the perenial issue of rusty Calipers? The only downside to 108's I think :)
