HC 2008 confirmed roster

Thank you for the kind words guys. I appreciate it.

I look forward to seeing pics of all the fun you guys will have.

20ducks - it is not dissension that I fear. I fear being treated like Maher Arar.....

http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5ihSd23YLVLMLx8tEc6GQXpZ12j7A
The U.S. Court of Appeals in New York ruled Monday that Arar's claim that it was a violation of due process to send him to Syria could not be heard in federal court. The court concluded that adjudicating the claims would interfere with sensitive matters of foreign policy and national security.

"It's a quite sweeping and reprehensible opinion," said LaHood. "It's quite sweeping in how much deference it gives to the U.S. government."

LaHood spoke with Arar and said he is equally taken aback by the decision.

"He was not only disappointed too, but outraged," she said.

"He's rightfully angered that he cannot get justice, and that not only can he not get justice, but that his being sent to torture has now been in vain because he can't even stop the government from doing it to someone else."

The 2-1 ruling also said that Arar, as a foreigner who had not been formally admitted to the U.S., had no constitutional due process rights.

So - there you have it. If I am crossing into the US and am not admitted then I have no right to due process and your Government can send me to ___________________ (fill in the blank).

In addition - I was born in The Islamic Republic of Pakistan. I get hassled quite often by US Border Guards when crossing the frontier and frankly I do not wish to expose myself to such treatment. I realize that the Border Guard is just trying to do his job and it is not personal for him - but why should I let the Guard have an opportunity to humiliate me?

This does not mean that I do not like Americans. Some of my best friends are American. They are all extremely kind, polite, and giving. All of you guys on this forum seem to be the same way. Please do not take this the wrong way. It is nothing personal - and yet it becomes very personal when you happen to be a foreigner and are entering the US. As a result I have decided not to enter or visit the US for the foreseeable future.

If I were in your shoes, I probably would do the same.

I, as a x-military guy, thinks the Patriot Act sucks....

Bah.......

With all due respect - I am sorry that you feel that way.

I was going to leave it alone but you asked and I am a freedom loving man - thus I said what were the factors that changed my plans.

Shipkiller - thank you for understanding and your kind words.

I was tolerant, surprised, baffled, disappointed, pissed, respectful.

Now I am just plain bored. So be it.

Yeah - aj. How about some NSFW pics. She is 'slutty' as you say. I think you should assist her in her endeavors and further her 'slutty' efforts by posting

She is... and I have the pics to prove it, but I will not post them on a public forum. I was raised to be a gentleman. I'll venture onto the internet and see if she has any pics posted up and then I will link to them for you. Even with all the anger and rage I have experienced and occationally still have, I will not cross that line. Sorry.

Enfield... I understand, however, you will be missed at HC. I, too, was hoping to get to meet you.

Without meaning to take sides here, I would just like to add a few points of my own before politely asking we let this go.

I can see both sides of the coin on this one. I can also see that we have a few personalities on here that like to get a rise out of each other (you all know who you are). I don't mind, really, but please stop for a second to think how this looks to passers by and new members. IMHO this is one step away from the UK/US banter that tainted the Z4UM a few years ago.

Politics + religion, they are always going to cause trouble somewhere along the line. One thing I do know is whichever side of the fence you sit you are never going to win.

I don't want to lock this thread but I don't want things getting personal either. I would appreciate it if the first thing new members see is not in-fighting. I am going to ask you all to just think how your post will look to new visitors before you post it (please).

I feel this thread has gone a little off course. How's about we focus a little bit more on Homecoming and less on Enfield? I am sure you are all going to have a great time. I wish I could be there with you and I too would like to meet Mr Enfield (and the rest of you!), but alas it ain't gonna happen. Let's make the most of it, and I look forward to hearing the stories and seeing the pictures.

Deleted my posts, boss :D :P

Enfield, I would seriously encourage you to attend HC. We are not nearly as bad as you portend us

No worries... it wasn't aimed specifically at you though, it just so happened I posted directly after you :)

Your post wasn't really bad, I just wanted to prevent this from becoming a 30 page thread about Enfield instead of Homecoming

BTW, JDHastings from the Z-Post forum is registered :) Good kid, literally, about 19 or so. Joined us for the last Dragon event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Invited him to particpate here, but to no avail
